I purchased a 2007 Tacoma, offroad package, tow package in 2009 for $23,900. Nice silver dbl cab with 22,000 miles on it. I have owned it for about 3 yrs and 2 months putting about 40,000 miles on it for a total of 63,000.

I was recently at the dealership getting my 60,000 service done (as well as two recalls). Mechanics found a few things wrong with the truck suprise suprise?!?!? All covered under my extended warranty at no cost to me. As I was walking the lot long story short found a nice speedway blue 2010 with 23,000 miles on it for $26,999. The 2010 had 4 leaf spring in the bed which was one more than mine. Dealership gave me $22,000 flat for mine and I got to keep my Okole's, Truxedo, and Weathertech's. Sorry if I rambled, but my question to you is...How do you think I did?

if you dont mind me asking what was the difference between what they gave you for your truck and what you owed on it? that will tell me if you came out good or not.

I had taken a loan out of my 401k one year ago so I had title in hand but still "owe" myself 7k if that makes sense. I have to say the 2010 rides quite on the highway compared to my 07 and there seems to be more head room in the '10 also.

You're probably right, but my wife mentioned she noticed more headroom as well. Oh, well nice truck overall and I hope it keeps its value like my 07 did.

I agree the price is pretty steep, i forgot about taxes and stuff, i think nowadays 40K miles isn't a big difference, some people can put that on in like 2 years, but i guess it's like starting over with a nearly new vehicle. Anyways as long as you're happy that's what's important

Yes I'm thrilled and I will be even more thrilled next year when I pay back my 401k! I think its a solid deal worthy of a B+. Sometimes I think of "what if" I bought a new 2012 for 5 or 6 grand more, but then I have to play around with the dealership over the rear leaf springs as well as other things. I just can't believe what they gave me for a trade in! Told my buddy who has a '06 with big time rust underneath to see what the'll give him. Will find out in a day or two.

Isn't the owe 7k (401K) + 4k (difference b/w trade-in & selling price) = 11k to upgrade? I only ask because the OP asked and I keep seeing different numbers.

Price aside honestly what matters is how you and your family feel about the deal. You gotta like what you are driving & life's too darn short.
Enjoy your truck & post up some pics! :D

I would think him oweing his 401K he would technically still owe it if they gave him 22K for his truck and he put it toward his new one, I'm thinking the difference was 27K for new truck minus 22 tradein = 5K + tax, tag, title (but i forgot tradein you only pay taxes on the diff, so it's prob closer to 6k to upgrade

Great deal... My bro was looking at the 2012 TRD O/R's all well into the 30k area... Only thing I'd want for my 08 thats on the newer TRD O/R's is ATRAC.
