Nice! Did you use a special filter on your lens? I wanted to take pictures too but read that it can damage your image sensor.

Thanks man! And nope, no special filter. I'm not too DSLR savvy so I had to mess around with a bunch of settings for a while til I finally got the moon to show up. Took quite some time that's why I missed all the shots where the eclipse was more full

    Sweet.
We went outside and checked out the crescents on the wall from the light shining through the trees.

You don't normally think of the light shining through trees as being an actual projection of the image of the sun until a day like this.

    Pretty neat.

Neat idea! Never thought of that. My gf was telling me about making a hole in a paper like I've seen some people have posted. Didn't get a chance to try that out but that's pretty awesome how that works.

Exactly... except ours were projected onto the wall so they were nearly perfect circles.

I got this at the start of it. Didn't get any at the peak because I was cooking and next thing you know, it had passed. :(

We were just wrapping up dinner and made it a point to go out at about 6:40, which was right after peak.

I was surprised how light it was outside considering that over 75% of the sun was covered.
I expected to be able to catch a glimpse of it directly, but no... too bright to even think about looking at.

Strange, because in '89 or '90 we had a partial and it was not uncomfortable to get a direct glimpse... but thinking back I think we had some moderate cloud cover like in Gelo's picture.

This is what I got at the beach about an hour ago. Hard to see, but it wasn't full coverage, and it was cloudy.

We had one of the best views in the whole world here in southern Utah and I didn't even have a decent enough camera to get a good photo. Defently cool to see it that lose
