That's out East Fork about 10 miles east of Pagosa Springs. It's a nice scenic road, nothing hardcore.

not today, but a few days ago I washed and waxed. Used this collinite wax. So far I am pretty impressed with how it did. A little harder to apply than others I've used though.

I also realized I am fed up with looking at all of this gravel/rock damage below my passenger doors. Any tips on touching it up? Or would you guys even worry about it? I want to rhino line my rocker panels eventually, but that is out of my budget for now.

rustoleum bedline it for now. Cheap and will add protection till you can save up for the rhino liner.

Use Herculiner. Its a lot cheaper than Line X or Rhinoliner and its waaaaaaaay durable. I used it on my rocker panels and its held up amazingly. Check my pics.

The PO owned it in Nome for the first 6 years of the trucks life, which has only gravel roads. I also have no mudflaps. Had one but lost it the first week I owned it.

That DYI bedliner does look pretty good. I've never used them before. How long have you had it on? Any issues with fading? That would be my biggest concern. Although anything would look better than how it does now, lol. What did you do for prep?

I touched up my current bedliner, and did some pieces on an ATV with the Rustoleum stuff. I just sanded and cleaned w/ lacquer thinner. The stuff has been on for 6 months now with no chipping or fading. Pretty good stuff. Plus you can buy it in rattle cans, so using it is easy.

As far as fading or chipping, I have seen none. The key to getting this job done right is definitely prep work. As with any paint like job. I have had mine on for well over a month now and that may not seem too long but they have seen a fair share of trail already. Just make sure that the surface your going to be applying to is super clean. I pressure washed my rocker panels very thouroughly and then let them completely dry. I then clean them with 3M adhesive remover. Just to really make sure. After all that was done i began sanding with the brillo pad. Once the entire area was sanded, I used an air compressor to blow all the sanded paint residue off. Then, after a final wipe down with adhesive remover, i taped off and applied it. i really couldnt be happier with the outcome. Im a 16 year old kid with not much background with this sort of thing but i just took my time and definitely nailed it.

If your just touching things up then the rattle cans are the bomb. But, for a full rocker panel job like this where you need a very even look and texture, Herculiner makes an excellent kit thats sold at Oreilys. Thats definitely the one id go with for rocker panels.

very good information, thanks. I may end up going that route this summer. Have you guys heard many good things about raptor liner? My buddy owns a boat shop and has used the raptor liner on a couple boat decks and few truck beds so I may be able to have him do it for a decent price. He says he mixes a bit of polyurethane paint in with it to provide some UV protection against fading.

If that ends up being too expensive or I can't get it done soon enough, I'll probably go with the rustoleum or herculiner even though I have no painting background. I sell paint every day at work but have not done any myself
