Thanks again for the advice. Got my bumper all welded up, I like the way yours looked so much that I got some plate added to it!

Yeah, sorry i guess i was vague. I was asking because the snorkel removes most fears of hydrolock, making the alternator the weakest link in the chain when it comes to deep water. I know there are other benefits to snorkels, and I wasn't implying that you enjoy deep water crossings so much that you seek them out (although, i don't see what the problem would be with that, if it were the case).

I just thought to ask because I had seen pics of you going through some fairly deep water, and you seem to have a knack for fabricating things, which made me think of your build when I found some home fabbed alternator shields some jeep XJ guys had made for their vehicles.

    Hey Box,

Dave and I had a great time wheeling with you in moab. It's nice to get out there with friendly people that know what they are doing. 12 hours of gnarly rocks and good company. Love your truck, Btw. Here is a nice pic of you on Poison Spider.

I know this is an old thread but I gotta say this is one of the best looking first gens I've seen. Love the color, and it's apparently as capable as it looks. Nice build.

Thanks man! It was good to meet you too. I really enjoyed the Trifecta run. Your truck makes me want to upgrade. Thanks for posting the cool pic. I guess I'll point out that I'm spotting and my wife is the one driving in that shot.

Please feel free to post more pics from that run. I didn't take a single photo that day.

Thanks! It looks a little less awesome with some damage to both bed sides after playing in Moab. Got the passenger side on the aptly named "body-snatcher" near the end of Golden Spike. Got the driver side Saturday on a poor line I took on a big ledge near the beginning of Cliffhanger.

So glad I built the new skids. My sliders and skids as well as both bumpers took some serious hits on this trip.

Awww...thats not damage, thats just character

And maybe some higher bedside protection on the left side would have helped? Maybe time to add some?

Same to you Steve! You killed it on Golden Spike with an almost stock truck. Seriously impressive!
