Considering how tough they appear to be built, I don't see why not. You're eventually going to want to upgrade the 1/10th quite a bit. You're really looking at the same amount of money in the long run, with the HPI you're spending it all upfront. I really like the apache because you can run the AE SC8 rollcage on it.

    Also, Hpi makes the Blitz. It's a 1/10 2wd. They're pretty popular.

except mine spewed flames :eek::eek: (Havoc pro sc)

fortunately it had no body panels on and it belched straight out the side of the roll cage. did not even char the plastic.....must say it was a close to total obliteration.

I have the Novak pro and actually when it stopped I pick it up and saw some smoke I had full panels on too and right away disconnected the batt.
Did they fix yours for free or how much did you pay to have it repaired?

Novak "used" to very good about replacing stuff, not sure now, since it's been a few years. I always thought Novak was top self, ran there stuff for over twenty years. But all the newer stuff looks cheesy to me.

I smoked one the other day my self, regular Havoc, not the pro. Was having trouble getting the brakes just right, so I zeroed and maxed all my radio trims and was just gonna set it back up from scratch. Was right in the middle of the "disco" show, and she smoked, motors fine (8.5). I dropped my old Novak 5800 SuperSport system from around 2003 or 2004 and it runs like a champ in my buggy.

What do you guys think about the team associated sc8e?
A local hobby shop is selling theirs good condition.

    Here are the specs:
" Has a few AE Factory Team hopups on it, such as the shocks and drivetrain parts. This kit has the Tekno SC8e conversion installed for better performance and balance. Also includes Tekin electronics: RX8 esc and 2000kv sensored BL motor. Ace 1313 servo included."

The SC8e is a pretty cool truck. The problem with them is they are too big to race most SC or too small to race the 1/5 SC. It is a nice basher or something to mess around with at the track.
