Whats the best way to get wax off of the black plastic trim parts? You know that white smudge you get if you get wax on the plastic trim...

An all purpose cleaner with a tooth brush will take it off. Peanut butter will also work.

So I'm looking to move on from using Turtle Wax Ice wax (or whatever it's called).

It's the stuff that can be applied to everything in blazing hot sun, etc...

I know it's just a quick fix type of product, which I'm fine with, however it's a serious PITA to wipe off. Too much work to wipe it off for what it provides.

So I'm looking for a similar simple "wax" to use for a quick detail that is much easier to work with.

In the past polishandwax (I believe) recommended this: M205 micro polish

I also have Meguiar's quick wax bookmarked: I was wondering which product is what I'm looking for.

    Thanks.

Also, my microfiber towels are leaving serious amounts of lint behind on glass and the body. I am washing and drying them per the instructions - is this just a common thing after so many uses?

Try this wax for your dark color Tacoma. It will not break the bank.

Use this code Use code PBVIP and save 20% at Autogeek this week.

Also the Cobra Junior towels are on BOGO. These towels are the best bang for the buck out there.

What towels are you currently using that leave lint?

Thanks for that link - seems like a lot more work than I'm willing to do (yeah I know... lazy). Plus I have chips, swirls, scratches, oxidation, etc... in my paint.

I bought the towels at autozone or some place similar a couple of years ago. No idea the brand. Maybe Meguair's?

    Thanks for all the help

I doubt if Megs towels would lint. The Autozone specials are good for wheels and under the hood. I would not let them touch the paint.

Probably good for the dirty jobs on a car IE wheels and engine bay. I doubt that I would use them on the paint.

I keep a supply of the same quality towels for the dirty jobs. Use them once then throw away.

This is some real good stuff. The key is to go over it with a few clean micro fiber towels. That enhances the shine. Don't fold the fold the towel thinking its dry "it's not". One to apply, one to remove, one for reminence left behind last one final buff. Remember the dirt in the the first and second towel can leave fine scratches that will stick out on a sunny day....

Just out of curiosity, if you're a professional detailer. Why are you using products you can buy at any auto part store or Walmart? I detail and have been for 15yrs. Not one of my products can be found anywhere but body shop/detail supply shops. And the only machine I use is a vaccum! All work is done by hand. Never ever not once a swirl mark EVER!!!!.

I bought what I could from the list of recommendations - some stuff was there, some not. But it turned out great. The wash, wax, tire stuff - everything worked great.

Did my Tahoe and Tacoma. Thanks for all the tips.

I think the point of the thread is to give the best products that we can get over the counter :) These are trucks that get dirty fast not show cars.

And a lot of the members are on a limited budget. Getting the most bang for the buck is important to them. ** More money for Mods**

The griots polisher is good. I favor the griots over the porter cable. I find it to be more powerful and comfortable.
