Why do Americans still use slotted screws ?

stupid sloted screws had to use one for a quick fix, worst screw ever.

Are you happy now buddy. They used rob's on the slide they built a few months ago at the hotel I work at. Not all American's are idiot's.

It's all they used also other than the bolts keeping the parts of the slide together.

 

Was it pressure treated wood ? They look like ceramic screws

Just when I thought this thread was over (two months ago), here it goes again.

 

Pretty much all deck screws that are worth a damn are square drive or Torx nowadays. I usually see square drive heads on screws spec'd for composite deck material.

 

Not sure about ceramic screws but it is pressure treated wood with a stain on it.

How come they went with the brown coating instead of the green? Was it cause the green ones were toxic?

 

You can get many different colours , with composite decking makers offering colour matched screws to their decking material , however , generally in builder's stores , the most common colours are green and tan , that match green and brown PT lumber , I also think the tan ones are meant to match cedar decking
