Hey guys, figured I'd ask for input here if you're willing. So, I need 2-3" of lift, mostly for looks/little extra clearance, BUT I don't want to sacrifice ride quality much if at all.

I was ready to get the FatBobs kit (and add some upgraded front shocks to smooth things out) but ive heard from some unhappy campers here with noticeably lower, sagging rear ends with the FB kit. I know one guy fixed the sag by ADDING air springs, but that's another $300 on top. Fatbobs suggested solution - a custom leaf pack, $500 plz

I'm looking to keep the cost around $500 for parts. What are the pros/cons of the FabTech 3" spindle kit (3" spindles front,AAL rear, new shocks all around... $565)? What are you guys running, happy with,not-so-happy with?

I got me a burnin yearnin to get some lift under my Taquito.... HELP

i dont think there are fabtech spindles for 2011 tacomas. as far as lift goes you basically have three options short of long travel.

the options are Fat bobs/ readylift, Total Chaos Midtravel UCA with coilovers or wait for the american motorsports lift spindle but the TC UCA and American motorsports spindles are way out of the $500 budget

there is also body lift but most people do not recommend that on here

Black grille guard with mounted kc road lights, 31x9.5x15 AT on stock rims. My future mod list: new white front bumper, Fat Bobs 2.75 spacer lift with rear AAL, american racing Flat Black Rims, 32x11.5x15 BFG A/T, satoshi grille with road lights mounted behind it, 8000k HID for all lights, 1'' Body Lift, new window tint, blacked out headlights and taillights, custom hood scoop, weather tech floor liners, LED dash cluster replacement, Front bilstein shocks, 40 series flowmaster, paint all my badges black.
get the fat bobs kit. It doesnt take away that much ride quality. Your only other current options are Long Travel or Mid Travel, which in turn you can look at spending 2-3 grand easily.

those high grade bolts dulled three bits. I was able to weld a nut to them both and back them out. Shes back on the road again and ready to bonz. I'm really glad it didn't ruin these fabtech lift spindles.

I used the highest grade bolt i could find at ace (10.9) and loctite and will be checking those bolts religiously but i think i may step up to f911 hardware or arp studs.

well my 8.8 snapped first then the 10.9 went as it was the only bolt left steering the truck.
metric grades are slightly different; a class 8.8 bolt has a yield strength of ~92,000 PSI while a true grade 8 bolt has a yield strength of ~130,000 PSI.

metric 8.8 is similar to a grade 5, and metric 10.9 is similar in strength to grade 8.

Yeah I know all about the strengths. Nothing is as reliable as toyota bolts though Haha I mean at least compared to all the autozone or parts store bolts

If you rear lt get 12s or 14s and run them outside the frame in a hoop

Well you are in sd my suggestion would be go down to national spring and have them make you a custom pack. It won't be cheap but its better than spending the money on front and rear hangers and shackles plus fab work worry about shock placement later. Get a hoop made and your set
