ARB bumper vibration

I Recently installed and ARB bumper on my trucck and I've noticed while driving that the bumper vibrates and shakes no matter how much I tighten the damn thing down. Another Guy I know with one is having the same issue. Any body else have this problem and how did you fix it? I'm thinking about tack welding it in place and see if that helps at all.

 

Maybe due to the spacer lift Get some stout springs on that rig.

 

Mine shakes just a little but doesn't vibrate.

 

Maybe I haven't updated my info but I have ome 885s and Billy 5100s in the front

 

Both of mine have a little shake, nothing to worry much about.
On my 1st gen Tacoma, the ARB is a little smaller and the shake is barely noticeable. On my 4th gen 4Runner, the bumper sits farther out and ia a bit larger like the 2nd gen Taco's. It has a bit more vibration. Both are torqued down tight.

 

No vibs here.

 

mine is solid as rock man i'm actually scratching my head how it even could vibrate :/

mine has a warn m8000 and had steel line in it for months i have winched off of it a few times now and since changed over to synthetic line and never one vibration. i would re torque everything according to the instructions maybe a few things are loose

 

It may not be the actual bumper vibrating, but the front end of the vehicles moving due to the suspension.
On mine there is no play in the actual bumpers. you can hang off of them and jump on them and they are solidly connected to the frame.

 

if it's fully bolted down the bumper shake is normal

his bumper isn't vibrating separately then the frame - it's the vibration difference from the cab to the bumper I would assume due to them having rubber separating them. totally normal NO MATTER WHAT BUMPER you have.

IMO if your bumper isn't vibrating your not beating it enough

this is also the reason you need to leave clearance between your bumper and your actual truck when installing them to allow for flexing.
the bumper is solidly on there if everything is torqued down properly its actually the truck flexing if this makes sense op.

You see that's what I was thinking. It feels solid as a rock. But shouldn't I feel the rest of the truck vibrating along with the bumper then? it seems like its just the bumper doing it.

Yup yup.

 

This "vibration" is why EVERYONE needs to insure you have 1/2" - 3/4" clearance between your bumper and fenders when they go aftermarket. This includes rear bumpers and sliders.
Unless of course you have solid motor mounts, tranny mounts, and cab mounts in which case you'll need a kidney belt
