    Hey guys,

Still installing my system and I think I may have run into anothe problem. I know I should be searching, but I'm in the car right now going to pick up supplies to build a box...

I'm curious is 2 8w7's will it behind my seat? I'm gonna try and build a box that has them front firing, but it says it only measures 7 1/2" on the bottom. Is it possible for them to fit behind the seat?

I don't care if they down fire, or front fire. Any insight would be much appreciated...

Thats still pretty deep for a sub. considering box and space from sub would add a few more inches, I'd have to say that it probably wouldn't.

DOH! Alright, thanks for replying... I don't know the exact measurements on the sub so I guess I'll reach out to a local audio shop and see if they have any insight. Appreciate it...

I was trying to use what I had, and those subs are expensive!!! But, if they won't fit behind the seat I guess I'll just sell what I have and buy one of those...

    Thanks for the insight.

I've got a JL 10w3 behind my seats in my DC. Got the box from SuperCrewSounds with the extra mounting depth. Fits perfectly and hits like a mother.

Ya, screw all that crap. Apparently the deepest sub you can fit is 6", and the w7's are 6 7/8", so no go... Guess it's time to sell these and purchase something different. Thanks guys...

I think about 6 1/4 is about as far as you can go. You could put w3's back there no problem and I think w6's.

I'll have to check into that. I was looking at the probox because someone said they could get one brand new for $550 for me, which I thought was a pretty fair price, but I don't know anything about their products. I have had my JL's for 5 years and LOVE them!!! I'll do a search on here for probox, but do you know anything about the company?

Probox? Never heard of them. I'd get a dual supercrewsound.com box with the added mounting depth 2 JL W3v3-4 world for a 2ohm load on a Kenwood KDC8105D.

I'll have to find it when I get home but I just remembered someone doing an 8dub7 side firing behind the rest seats. He had dual ported chambers with 2 8dubs

Look up the Alpine Type-R 12 shallow mount. 3.5 inches for a 12, 600watts RMS.. I'm VERY Pleased with mine and I have it fitting behind the seat of my 11 double cab and am able to fold the seat all the way down. I had to take off rear plastics due to my error when building the box, but the next box will fit just fine and allow you to fold down the seats with plastics still on.

You can see pic's in my build thread.

I've got it along with a half a million links that are Taco/Porsche related for the forums I'm a member of.
I love them. I'm considering them for my truck.

:frusty::annoyed:I've seen it! I know I've seen it done but I can't find the links! Tomorrow measure across the bottom between the seat and back wall the go about 8 1/2-9 inches up and measure from the back to the wall and see what the measurements are.
