FINALLY FOUND a TRAIL

Today I made it out in my stock taco to run this trail. It was AMAZING. It ran for miles and miles along the spine of a mountain.





















The last one was sort of weird. There were tons of caved in cavern entrances, one derelict roof and the entire area was covered in a black sand. Coal mine at one time?

 

Looks like fun man! Its always good to test what your truck is capable of doing.

It was an amazing trail, I have taken the taco offroad, but nothing like this. Five minutes from my campus too, in southwest VA

Haha I was told by my off road club to not give out specifics because the second half was just purchased by a developer and i no long public property.

LOL, this answers my question on the CCVT forums. Hopefully you'll make it to the car show - fun stuff. To bad I can't bring both the Mazda and the Tacoma though

Dude, never go offroad like that alone. ESPECIALLY uncharted territory.

Always have a second vehicle with you.

This has nothing to do with getting stuck. This has all to do with something happening and you not having a way to get to safety. If a tree falls on you, if you get bitten by a rattle snake, if you fall and break your leg, or whatever.... That secondary vehicle can drive you back to safety or a hospital.

Well technically neither are down there (I live in OH) but I will only be taking the Mazda. The Tacoma is absolutely stock so there really isn't any reason to take it.

 

So was mine and I made through babcat! Even got the stock dunflops on

Looks like the short cut that you would take in the middle of the night on the way home from the high school prom. You know the one that in the pouring rain you take shelter in the old abandoned cemetery grounds keepers shed. One by one your friends start disappearing....

 

ya i took one bypass around a mud hole and it proved to be a major pain in the ass. I had to very carefully navigate through a bunch of tight squeezes. Took half an hour with a million point turn to travel 20 feet

 

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. But not that extreme.

yes i know i know about heading out there solo, I talked extensively with the off road club moderator down here and he planned out my route. I followed precisely and never had any problems. There were bypasses around anything iffy and it proved to be a long, fun but easy trail if you were smart. It was once a national forest service road, left unmaintained and now an off road trail
