Regret Going with a 265/70/17?

I'm running Hankook Dynapro ATM tires. Nice looking tire and very quiet on the highway. I'm really happy with them so far.

I'm anxious to see how well they perform in the snow and ice next winter. Reviews say they're very good for winter driving.

I got the version with no white lettering on either side.

 

Im running 265/75/r17 Nitto Terra Grapplers and i couldnt be happier

 

I just bought general grabbers and I love them. Little road noise and so far on the roads they have handled great. 265/75 16's

 

Have 265/70/17s on a 2008 Double cab/Lb.
Quiet, good in rain, good in sand, OK offroad in rocks etc.
Have 8,000+ on them. Will rotate at oil change this week. No wear issues.
Have run many miles off road in Baja - no flats, no sidewall punctures.
Speedo is dead on with GPS.
Definitely recommend them.
Going back down for the Baja 500 in a week.
A good choice.

I have this size duratracs, with a 3 inch lift. Looks good to me.

when my stockkers go out, im switching to 265/70R17 forsure!

 

I have 265/75R16 and I think they look great on the stock suspension and they don't look bad at all on lifted applications. I will be moving up to 285's though when my icons come in.

 

Just bought BFG TA KO AT 265/70/17 on the stock Sport Rims (soon to be changed to Moto Metal 951 black 17x9) and have 5100's all around. Rear TSB and front set at 1.75. Perfectly leveled with about 2" of lift... Tires look GREAT! and I love how they ride and look, but I regret it every day. wish I went with 285's. Makes all the difference in the world to me. But I actually of road and use them so that could be a biased opinion. But regardles of offroad or not, I like 33's way better than the 32's. Im hoping that since the new rim is 1" wider than stock (17x9 instead of x8) that it will change the look and give me more of what i was going for. Taken today:

Sorry, but I'm not 100% sure as they were already on the truck when I got it. I think they are an OEM toyota though?

man i love this look and am actually leaning towards the ALL TERRAINS -- have they affected your MPG's that much? i'm not much of an off-roader so like i said, it'll mainly be highway mileage but i still want the look!

 

OP, there are lighter/less aggresive all terrains for mostly highway use.
for mpg there are many factors to consider: width, diameter, tread pattern/rolling resistance, weight/tire rating, etc. . .
BFG AT is a very popular/proven tire in many uses, but pretty heavy with semi aggresive tread

it's all about what you want though, just throwing info out there

I ran both the Toyo A/T's and a set of Deans on my Jeep and had no noticeable MPG difference from the (same size) highway skins it had when I bought it. The Deans were actually a great on- and off-road tire (traction/handling/noise), but they didn't wear for squat. The Toyo's performed great and I'd be running them on my Taco if I didn't need heavier tread.
