Upgrades on an '07 Tacoma

    Volant CAI, Volant scoop, AFE Throttle Body spacer, Tornado, MBRP dual exhaust
    Does anyone have the following items on their 2nd Gen. Tacoma:

    - AFE Throttle Body Spacer
    - Volant Cold Air Intake
    - Volant Front Air Scoop
    - MBRP Dual Exhaust
    - Unichip

    The reason I ask is because has anyone else with any of these parts had problems installing/operating your vehicle afterwards?

    Welcome to TW! Any TB spacer is useless on our trucks. Just makes it wistle, and gives no gain......none.......nada..........zipp.

    As for the throttle body spacer, they do absolutely nothing for our trucks. Cold air intakes are debatable but I never put one on because I have not seen any dyno readings to back them up. Its your truck so put one on if you want!

    As for what I recommend, take out the charcoal, secondary air filter, and install a scangauge. The scangauge monitors how you are driving and makes you improve over all. It is a great investment.

    Umm....I wouldnt take out the charcoal filter. Neither Gaget or me found any difference with it removed. FWIW, the TRD and AFE intakes do give a gain. I have seen about 5 h.p. from them. The K&N ones either showed no gain, or a loss. :)

    I have wondered about that happening. I never thought that they had enough play in the rubber to handle repeted torque loads on the engine. Good to know!

    Damn that sucks!! I also have the TRD CAI but then again, I don't go off-roading. Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep my eye open on that now.;)

    Good. Poor design on TRD (Afe) part. They should use an accordian type connector.

    I was just thinking. It wouldnt be that hard to trim back the plastic tube a little bit. Maybe an inch and a half. Get some accordian tube of the correct diameter, and redo that junction...........
