THE PLASTI-DIP MEGA THREAD!!!!!!

I'm actually quite amazed how durable it is, and easy to touch up.
Still haven't needed to redo my wheels.

 

I know right!? my badges and emblem along with several other things I dipped are holding up GREAT!!! the ONLY and I mean ONLY part that has shown signs of fatigue by the dip is on the passenger side side mirror plastic I dipped (only the inner area where it mounts on the outside ... hope that makes sense, not where the mirror is I taped that up to where it is able to bend and dipped from there). and it's VERY, I mean VERY little tear/wear. Enough for some SOB to come in and pull at it, but I recently washed my truck again at the slapper wash and HAS NOT EVEN come off from that!!!!!! so just shows that proper prepping and application will do you right with this product.

KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS PRODUCT DOES HAVE IT'S LIMITS JUST AS ANYTHING ELSE WOULD/DOES

 

I dipped my front grill to get rid of the chrome, I has noticed peeling because I didn't clean it well and then spent 14 hours on the interstate

 

Ok so a little spot on my hood scoop pealed up. I dont have any way to buy plasti dip for about 9 weeks. So I went to start pealing it off but this shit wont let loose. I mess with it for 30 min and only got like 6 square inches off. Does any one know a trick to get sunbaked plasti dip off? I have used this stuff plenty of times so I know it shouldnt be this fucking hard.

lol, how many coats did you put on it? also I always wait an entire day before putting out the dipped part into the world.

it should come off even by rubbing it with your finger. When I was re-dipping my shift panel I had that same thing happen to me. Some parts would peel off fine but the rest I had to use a rag to get off. Just the abrasion from the rag (was an OR rag my mom brought home) was enough to get the dip off. Just try using a rag.

I'd say 3 coats, but it was also a little uneven

I got the red today. Ordered it online from a store on Amazon.com. Will post pics when I use it.

Badges now done

 

When plasti dipping badges do most people clear coat them or do they hold up fine with out it?

This stuff is great. I plast-dipped my valence and badges on my truck last night, doesn't look too bad? what do you think?
I agree with others, don't just spray the badge, spray around the badge as well, helps with the removal

 

PlastiDip'd the front bumper valance today! I love it! put a nice coat of wax down before i sprayed it so it comes off easier when I want it to.

 

I test dipped the honda, just to see if it was indeed as awesome as everyone says.


Indeed, its super easy, and awesome!! So I did the emblems on the taco first, then my fiance talked me into doing the wheels too. Next is the valance, which she is totally against. I dig it though so I'm going to try it. I just have to scrub the bugs off first...

 

Has anyone done the chrome/black fender trim on 1st gen Tacoma? Thinking about giving it a try.
