I would have to agree. For one of the first 6 teams in the NHL located in the biggest city in the US you would think NY'ers could get it right.

Too bad Mark Messier is not playing for the Rangers in this series.

On a positive not when Messier played for the Oilers he was unstoppable. Probably the best hockey player I saw play in that time period. The man could do it all.

The hit on Hossa was dirty, but not 25 games dirty IMHO. It was a hockey play and it would have been a clean hit (and probably just as brutal) until he left his feet. Head injuries are bad for the game but judging by his attitude in the post game interviews I don't feel his intent was malicious but his reputation preceded him which I feel was part of the reason for the excessive suspension.

I had a whole post written about why DB should be suspended for this hit, I think this picture says more than I need to. What a tool, end of story.

All sports need to wise up and suspend the offending player the same amount of time the receiving player is out of the game. That would stop a lot of the BS hits.

I actually like Torres and yes I agree he did not deserve 25 games and you're right about him getting the 25 was because of previous hits. Hits where I believe others had their head down but I won't get into that again.

As far as the Brown hit, I think it was dirty as well. I am actually shocked at a lot of the broadcasters saying it was not intentional. It was not a knee on knee (thank god) but it was a knee regardless.

I liked Brown earlier in the playoffs but I am starting to lose respect for him as the playoffs move on. However I would still like to see L.A. win.
