about to install rear shocks

    im about to install the rear 5100's on my truck. correct me if im wrong here. On the 1st gen tacos, the boot of the shock goes up? and also they are labeled left and right. Not sure if that matters but would the left shock be the driver side?

    i should of just pm'd you lol. heres another question though and pics to come with it. is this gap normal? the shock is on the top mount and it overlaps the bottom mount quite a bit...do i need to jack the frame up now?? and if i do have to jack up the frame do i need to watch out for possibly overjacking and breaking something..

    getting there....
    yep....thats normal. use a floor jack to help lift the bottom of shock into place, then put the bolt thru....worked for me.

    thats awsome! I really want to get bilsteins on my rear! I think it will give me a better ride in the back, instead of the gay Rancho's I have now. Either that or the 3 leaf AAL from wheelers...

    thats what I got! plus a 1" block to give me a little rake.:) I gotta soften the ride a bit though, Im thinking either shocks or different leaf lift, like the 3 leaf progressive AAL from wheelers which is sappose to give you a smoother ride.

    you dont necessarilly need the aal.....just slide the boot up on the shock a bit.
