Met DoubleD (Danny) today. Had him do my 5100's, 885's, & diff drop today since I'm 1-armed for awhile. Cool guy & did the work quick.
Passed a white TRD Sport access cab on 28 south headed home. Sweet truck w/ TRD wheels, Avid light bar, & Avid or NFab steps. Dunno if he's local, but he got off at 50 west. Anyone?

Where's the pics of the finished work? I ended up taking my diff drop off a while back and gave away in the free thread. With my ATO IFS skid I had like 1/8" (if that) of space between the diff and the skid.

And good thing I didn't bother to wash my truck this weekend like I had planned :rain:

Pretty much looks the same as my sig pic. May sit a 1/2" higher in front now. Rides so much better though.

Diff drop def helps the angle on the c/v joints. I have a three inch lift on my truck with diff drop an carrier bearing shims all very necessary. All angles are better an less wear an tear. Def do it.

Instead of a diff drop, take the clip off the cv boot, pull it down (so the fins don't touch) and put a hose clamp on it to keep it on place

oh ok gotcha. I have sigs disabled in my profile. My laptop at home is on the older side and struggles with all the gifs and stuff people have in there.
I have the carrier bearing drop and axle shims on my truck and have a very slight takeoff shudder but nothing to worry about. I don't know if they helped or not, everything was installed at the same time and its not enough to bother me. However for my diff drop, when I took it off the angle of the cvs looked close to the same. For the very minimal difference I don't think it would do much either way.
May have to try this eventually. NetMonkey (think thats his name) has a running thread on how he did his and if they have moved during his checkups. No fins rubbing right now so I'm not too worried about it. That is one thing I really like about the toytec adjustable coils. I have already dropped the front once maybe by 1/4". The spanner wrenchs suck though even with a breaker bar to help out.

Anybody in NoVa have a set of stock wheels & tires I could borrow for a few days so I can get my alignment done? I went to 2 places today & neither could get the heads on the wheels without scratching the paint on them. My tire sits flush with the edge of the rim so they would have to force them on. I'm not having any of that...

Or a recommendadtion of a place that has the alignment heads that go on the tire...

Y'all got a Tires Plus over there? The one in stafford has done my alignment a couple times, did a decent job too. Just about spot on.

Edit: first time I was on stockers, second time was with aftermarket wheels

Ronnie, the problem I have is that they can't get the alignment heads to mount on the wheels. The tires sit flush w/ the edge of the rims. No gap. Josh, I'll let you know.

Seen a gold 2nd gen earlier, 4 door, looked to have a 6" lift, bushwacker flares, roof rack. It was on rt 1 south, just out front of fort belvoir, anyone on here?
