do i need another alignment?

ive added about 200 pounds to my front end in the past month or so. just wondering if that would effect my alignment at all? im running OME 886's just in case that matters

 

I'd say it's a judgement call. I'd take into account how much it sagged with the added weight and how it drives/handles and make a judgement call. It's probably not required, it wouldn't have affected your toe adjustment, camber might have been slightly affected because the suspension is slightly compressed but probably nothing overly drastic, same with caster.

 

i would just check your toe yourself and make the small adjustment, no reason to spend another $75 or so for a simple toe set

You can't with any real degree of accuracy... You're talking about fractions of a degree, you're not going to get that kind of adjustment yourself. If it drives and handles fine, I wouldn't worry about it. If something feels off, then I'd take it in so you don't wear down your tires prematurely.

 

take a tap measure and get under your vehicle. measure the distance from wheel to wheel in front and back (measure from same spot on sidewall front and rear). if your measurements are what is it 1/32", 1/16" toed in your fine??

someone correct me but I think thats what the usual toe in is no?

This is NOT the correct way to do an alignment... You can have that much deflection just in the way the tire was made. If you're going to attempt to correct the toe yourself, you need to measure from the wheel, not the tire.

I'd only use the DIY method to get it 'close' after doing work on the front end, just good enough to drive to an alignment shop to have it properly checked. Toe being out of spec will eat up your tires so I would not trust the tape measure method.

Usually toe is set to 0 or as close to 0 as reasonable possible.

 

if your adding the 200 pounds at the wheels like s/plates
you just may need a alignment
have it checked

 

yeah i did 95 pounds in skids and about 100 for my bumper and winch

You absolutely need an alignment. If you don't care about tire wear just get one when you burn up your tires. If your alignment guy was silly and ran you at 0 toe you now have substantial negative tow. Your camber needs adjusting too.
