how freq'ly do you check your PCV valve and throttle body?

Haven't found anything in Haynes Repair Manual regarding PCV valve and throttle body regarding scheduled maintenance . Any info on this would be much appreciated? Thanks in advance.

Idk honestly man, but since you brought it up I should probably look into it.. Haven't found a Haynes Manuel for a 2nd gen taco. Just a chilton.
Do you know anything on a throttle body spacer from toytec?

 

I think it'd be a good practice to pull the PCV and take a look at it's condition every 30k miles, given "normal" driving conditions.

 

Under Normal, I think this would be accurate, but under more intense conditions I'd say every 10k

I just clean off my MAF and TB every 15,000 miles. It's surprising how dirty they get.

 

It's located on the valve cover. From what I understand, the PCV valve regulates the flow of unburned fuel vapors and combustion byproducts back into the intake manifold to be reburned.

The PCV valve is important, since if it gets clogged, the engine may stall, be sluggish, or have a hard time starting. Also, the trapped byproducts won't have a way to escape, causing sludge problems. I know this first hand since my father's T100 had issues with stalling. It turned out to be a clogged PCV valve. Unfortunately for his truck, the engine is already pretty sludged up because the PCV was clogged for some time.
