Hey MJ, anytime at your convenience; there is no time restraint beacuase it's at a dealership. My mom lives up near Chico, and I'm over here in Stockton. I would like to get a fellow Tacoma owner's opinion. This will be my mom's daily driver. Her needs are fairly simple and the only mods she will care to add in the future are floor mats, HID headlights, and possibly wheels and tires down the road. I'm more or less interested in condition, any signs of abuse, and any maintenance issues. If it seems legit, the wife and I along with my mom will cruise over tomorrow or Sunday and check it out. Here is the info: http://shar.es/q7lPa MJ a little insight and a few pics would be a great help. If you have the time great; if not don't sweat it. Thanks in advance. -Wes

For CA registration i have a weight fee? I thought those were only for commercial trucks and vans [IMG]

Also. My CA registration expires July 31, 2012. But in the first week of August I am moving to Crawlerado and getting a town house there and registering the truck with CO plates.
How do I go about this? I don't think its too smart to drive across a few states with expired tags.

Can't you get temp tags? There has to be something like that if your moving?
Call DMV in your future area and see what they can do.

If you know your address, then the easy thing to do is register the vehicle in CO before it expires.

Most pickup trucks end up with commercial plates. If the plate is NLN... then it's commercial. If it's NLLLN, it's not.

    Hi everyone,

New member, been lurking on the forums for awhile, used to have a '91 pre taco and had been looking for a Tacoma for about 6 months, finally found a deal on a 2009 Silver DC Long Bed and bought it a little over a month ago.

I made a thread in the new members area but find myself lurking this section the most, so I figured I'd introduce myself.

    I dunno man, I think you're hosed.

I don't think you'll be able to register it in Colorado until you're physically in the state with your truck. Depending on how much your registration is, It might actually pay you to go the week before and register in CO before the CA registration runs out.

Otherwise, I think you need to renew in CA - then register again within 90 days of moving to CO. But there doesn't seem to be any mechanism for refunding the unused-prorated CA registration, that I can see.

    For california:
    http://dmv.ca.gov/vr/vr_info.htm#moving

    For colorado:
    http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite/Revenue-MV/RMV/1177024843160

You could try putting it off - but I think they're gonna make life heck for you at the CO DMV when you walk in to register your truck with expired CA tags.
