Nose high with 5100s at 1.75 and rear leaf TSB

Hey All-
I've got 5100's installed in front with rear leaf TSB and its a little nose high. I am considering a 1" block in back. I don't do any serious offroading. just want it to look right.

What do you guys think about this? From what I've heard a block in back isn't all that bad as long as your not off roading hard. Its easy to install and relatively cheap compared to AAL or new leaf packs.

 

Stock coils or eibachs?

 

In the heading it states he is at 1.75 on the billies so eibachs are out of the question.

Did you measure or does it just look like it is nose high?

I put on billies at 0 with eibach and it looked front high kinda but I measure and I am taller in the rear by 1 inch with my TSB leafs.

Most on here are going to tell you to do a AAL since blocks are so bad but the only AAL are 1.5 inches and higher.

I personally would run a 1" block and not worry about it. If you do not like it just take it back out.

 

I measured. Its about 1/8" higher in front. I had the TSB done about a year ago so I think it has settled. Plus i do a little towing

I don't want to make the ride any stiffer which i heard the AAL will cause. What negative effects could the blocks cause? Does it compromise the weight capacity or towing ability?

 

Only potential problems with blocks I know of is axle wrap under heavy acceleration? Maybe rear end hopping under heavy acceleration? Drive average and it should be fine I guess.

 

If you'r not wheeling hard you'll be fine. OE manufacturers have been using blocks out back for ever for setting ride height. They just arn't the best option. but they do indeed work.

 

Keen observation Gelo76. Problem is I prefer the factory rake over the nose high look.

Does anyone know if the block installation would cause any issues with the brake lines? Ive read that sometimes they need to be lengthened

 

Drop the 5100's down .... (I personally hate blocks)

I've had the TSB for about 5 years now and it only sits about 1" higher than stock.

 

Maybe ur 5100s just needs to settle if u just installed them. I have the same setup and I'm pretty much leveled.

 

In my opinion and experience, nothing wrong with blocks.
I have them, and. I tow a little. Not a problem!

 

Not all AALs are created equal. Toytec AAL is just a single leaf. Icon's AAL is a progressive 3-leaf pack, with better ride.

Do you intend to install a winch and/or plate bumper in the near future? The extra front end weight will cause the front springs to settle a bit more and level the truck.
