"Closer to home" Tip: TW's Tire Size Calculator will do the same thing, as well as run comparisons between sizes, calculate speedometer differences and provde table of Gear Ratios/RPMs.

    Norton,

Nice truck. I can see the BFGs on your 04'. I'm assuming they're 265/70/16s. Have you seen anyone's truck with 265/75/16 on it?

what are you putting them on? your sig says the taco w/ 6" lift was sold. the closest size i've seen to what you are saying is a 265/70/17 and that'll fit stock.

Yes, I have a 6 lug 2011 Reg Cab. No lift currently, but I am going to go with a 3 inch lift this summer.

The wheels I am looking at are 17" Black Rhino "Keyhole" with a -12 offset. (second hand)
I've found many sets of cheap used tires in almost new condition (stock tires from bigger trucks)

So would a 265/75/17 really make that much of a difference over a 70?

stock 17s on ours are a 265/65/17. to go up one size and not cause issues on a stocker would be 265/70/17. dont think i've seen any 265/75/17 tires...265/75/16, yes.

Thank you! My BFG A/T KOs are, indeed, 265/70R16s (that were installed a couple of years before the modest lift I recently added). I haven't seen the 265/75R16s in-person, but there are several TW members running them. The one I remember most, since he also has the same 4Runner wheels & front springs I have, is CHPTR11. There's a good picture of his truck here.

There doesn't seem to be a largest tire size without a lift for 18" wheels. Any suggestions?

it would be the equivalent for any sized rim...(sizes are not exact, but are pretty damn close overall)

    265/75/16 = 265/70/17 = 265/65/18

So I have found a 2010 access cab TRD. Has stock 265 65 17 Dunlops.

I am thinking of going up a little in tire, plus or minus shocks lift etc.

I have always preferred BFG All Terrains for a variety of reasons that boil down to overall reliability, noise,on and off road balance etc.

With no lift and no change in wheels do we agree that 275 70 17 will be fine?

What suggestions for a minor lift and better shocks? Bilsteins and a 3 inch with same tires?? I do not want to raise overall height anymore than necessary to get decent travel and meat in wells....

I've got a bone stock 07 TRD Sport 4wd, DC, with factory Bridgestone tires. I'm looking to purchase some nice BFG A/T KO's. My local tire shops only seem to have the 265/70/17 in stock. From reading on TW, it appears this minor size increase won't be a problem. Is there anything else that I need to worry about? Sounds like the speedometer will be slightly off, but I'm not sure it isn't already. How about gas mileage? Any help or opinions would be great.
    Thanks

Stock- just bought rims, tires, and 4' spindles (camburg) Just waiting for rims (back order:-/), then off to the shop
New to site and reading a lot but I guess I had a misunderstanding of this tire sizing...
I thought the tire sizing was like 265/70/17 was height/width/rim. But you guys say by going from 265/70/17 to a 265/75/17 you will get an inch more height. I though that would just increase width of tire? But I'm still new to this tire geometry so maybe I'm misreading or...

No one ever mentions 255/75/17. It is a 32" tire that I hear will fit a stock tacoma. I don't know because I don't run them yet but there is at least one guy that does on stock suspension that lurks around here. I know that the tall skinny isn't for everyone but I think in the right tire it looks pretty sick.

there's a lot of talk about them. maybe not necessarily in this thread, but that size is all over TW. I used to run them years ago and they fit on stock sport rims w/ no lift.

Yes I have read all about them on TW but no one ever mentions them in these "largest tires" threads...I guess because they are "skinny". Still glad to hear another confirmation that they work on stock suspensions even though I am now considering a mild lift.
