We have ADT as well, tired of all these people trying to get me to upgrade....if I have sensors on every door/window, heat/smoke detectors, is it really worth the upgrade?

Thanks^ been paying for nothing for 2 years. When i called to discontinue service i get the threat of " you know Mr Mcdowell we notify your insurance and your rates will go up" so been paying for the 20percent homeowners savings they say you get with an alarm service.

No problem...it is so tempting just because you can't "cut" a cellular line:rolleyes:

Buddy I have plenty of firearms, but they won't do you any good without an early warning device...

You then say "I'll call them myself and see"....and get the price difference. Scare tactics are their game.

I'm two days away from closing on my first house, so I'll be paying close attention to this thread. Could you give some rough estimates on how much it would cost to have a home security system installed/monitored?? I'm sure there are alot of factors involved, but any info would be helpful. Also, if anybody else could post costs, that'd be helpful, too!!

Slim the 42 Ivories x 2 references Dogs ( Dogs have 42 teeth ) my avatar might tell you what type of dogs the both are. Though to be honest I too have electronics motion, video monitoring with external notification but not a live monitor system. I am to far out in the country for a decent response time from either security company or state/local PD.

You ever heard of deavcon? Just had them install a system the other day. Mine is all cellular, with a simcard through verizon. Igot a great deal on it all. 3 door sensors, 1 motion/ camera, 2 window, 1 glass break sensor install for 100. Only paying 50 a month so i am pretty happy with.

people seem to focus a lot on guns being their security system...but those dont do you ANY good if you are at work or on vacation etc

Most burglaries are going to occur in the daytime when there is a good chance of you being at work etc

While there is a delay between companies and the police...it does actually up the chance that the police will interrupt the burglary or even catch the people responsible

i've caught 2 or 3 coming out of a window while responding to an alarm call
