Hey I have a 97 4x4 automatic tacoma and just today it started not shifting into second gear. It revs till about 4000 and then it shifts hard into third. When going from third into second it doesn't shift into second but just bogs down. Any ideas on what it is? Transmission fluid is good. Thanks!!

It does smell burnt. Already been to the dealers test driving new trucks lol. She's 1000 miles shy of 200 000

Have you tried buying it a nice dinner and taking it dancing? Or using some Barry White and a bottle of Merlot?

She is fixed! Turns out it was just the transmission solenoid and after one day at the shop she is good to go.
I would never use a tacoma as a trade vehicle because you can get so much more in a private sale.
I recently turned my tacoma into a pilot vehicle and now its hard to do any 4x4ing since theres a bloody oversize load sign mounted on the back so thats why I want to get into somehting newer to do that in and keep modding the taco. My eibachs and uca's are sitting in the closet waiting to go on :)
