Sway bar is necessary for speed off road. Articulation is not as important as stability when you are traveling at high speeds.

I dont say this with any disrespect to anyone on here. But unless your truck is caged, you are harnessed and wearing a helmet. 60 is not smart off road PERIOD! I say that cause I lost a friend doing that and would hate to read about something like that on here about anyone.

Depends on if you feel you still have cornering control at that speed, even Trophy Trucks use sway bars, the splined torsion bar type with slip ends, allows more twist than a stocker but still helps with control.

For example I put a splined torsion bar on the Jeep and I absolutely love it! Made a huge difference, thats why I can go 70 mph through the washes and still crawl through Devils canyon.

I am sure I can make one work on a Tacoma...Currie sells them in universal kits and just fab up some mounts to fit it and you will a happy man.

Its called a Currie Anti-rock, look it up if your interested, I can make one fit..

Soo I took my sway bar off on Tuesday and now that I've driven without it I definitely feel a difference on turns I'm a little afraid of the on ramps now haha! However my truck used to shake a lot after 40mph but I've noticed that's gone!

Could the sway bar cause the car to shake if so why and what should I check for damage?

Yep. I agree. I have a full cage in the Jeep, should handle anything I can manage to get myself in to. Still workin on the harnesses though, the roll cage is just going to kill me when I ricochet off of it several times! Then I will end up in the back seats between the cage and hardtop!

My Pro Street Camaro has a full cage as well, and harnesses, but I dont wear a helmet while driving, maybe I should, I can be aggressive at times when I feel 650hp at my foot!

I do know where your coming from, I know a person who was killed in an offf road accident, but it was a fuggin Rhino, and it was a girl who was only 15 and she was playing around in it around camp and put it on its side and she unfortunately got under it when it happened, and died instantly of a broken neck. Was a horrible day to say the least, the acccident looked like nothing serious, but it was worse than anyone could have imagined and this was at less than 20mph..

    Careful fellas!

If it doesnt , let me know and I will get it out for ya!

I am going to take my Jeep and leave it in Havasu, so I am going to need to come up with a new plan for a toy...

    Here are my requirements:

Be able to go fast in washes, and beat Long travel Tacomas, lol.
Be able to crawl with the beat of them
    Go fast, already said that...

I am thinking of using a Suzuki Samurai and putting a 1st gen 4cyl drivetrain into it, then I will turbo the motor (2RZ, not 3RZ) and push roughly 300 horses.

I will use Toyota axles, trans and TC, and probably gauges as well.

I will most likely stretch the wheelbase since its too short for going fast IMO, they get to twitchy at speed being so short.

Or I could just build a full on Dual Sport buggy since its going to be registered in Havasu. I would just use a Toyota truck but I want something that has more weight in the rear and has 4 seats too.

    What do you guys think?

I know I've built the wrong vehicle when the KOH buggies can handle the whoops and crawl up mountains like champs.

Except I don't see them hitting big ass jumps all too often.

Were you planning on making the chassis tubular or going with a frame speed?
