So I have a Gerber multi tool. I checked out several before I bought this one. I am happy with it. Basically everyone knows all real men have a multi tool in their truck.

Leatherman Wave. Love a leatherman. Never cared much for the gerbers.

I have 2 Gerber Clutch, 1 Suspension, and a Husky Multi tool. I keep the Husky, and 1 clutch in the truck, and the Suspension, and the other CLutch in the kitchen.

Leatherman is a Fantastic tool! However, given the use, abuse, and occasional loss, my Multi's experiance, I prefer the Gerbers for cost.

Do the individual tools on the leatherman lock into place when in use?

The saw, two blades, and file lock in place with a button release. The other tools that fold out snap into place and need some rotational force to snap them back out to swivel them closed.

All of mine lock. They have a lever on the back that locks them all in place.

I have both a Leatherman and a Gerber but had to take both out of my truck otherwise I'd get expelled from school.

    Put a shirt over it......

What they dont know, wont hurt them.

And I am in no way an expert on law, but I dont think they can search your vehicle witout consent and I dont believe tx law would say anything about a multi tool. You cant have it on your person, for sure, since it has a knife blade, but otherwise I dont see how they could say anything.

It's a state law in Texas to not have a knife, firearm, illegal drug, alcohol, or tobacco on campus.

Or so the sign to the student parking law says.

A kid was expelled this year for ciggarettes, brass knuckles, and a pocket knife.
