Silverado / Sierra use a pretty old engine, I wouldn't even consider one.

My dad has a new F-150 with the ecoboost. If I were to get out of this truck and not pick up a diesel, that is what I would go with no doubt. Drives like a dream, even at this elevation. I have ridden in one of the new f-150s with the 5.0, it didn't feel all that spirited to be honest.

If I go back full size it would likely be the F150. Just would be scared of the Ecoboost since it is so new. I even considered the F150 when I got the Taco but wanted something smaller plus the fact that I'd always wanted a yota 4x4. Good luck!

I would agree that it was funny if the OP in turn was a dick, or had not participated at all in the forum, or had only posted stuff for sale.

But there was no reason for that with this OP.

I'd get the 5.0 over the EcoBoost as well, but the only reason I would get a fullsize would be for towing. For mostly highway and occasional towing, the EcoBoost will fit your needs OP.

    Bingo.

With the financing SWMBO arranged, I had the choice between a Tundra RC base V6 and Taco RC base I4.
    Both same year, same mileage.

Don't need the huge bed of the Tundra unless it's also an AC or DC (really did want an AC), and for the better economy, ease of parking... Tacoma > Tundra for my needs.

I would go with the Ford. Afterall they did not take any bailout money like Government motors did. Government motors was given to the unions who now run it and they still have not paid back all they owe to us taxpayers. Fords are nice and that Raptor is badass.

Dont buy an f-150, Your not gaining that much space. Honestly if a tacoma isnt enough space you need to look into a fullsize truck. My recommendation goes to Dodge. Get a cummins and that will be more then enough truck. DO NOT GO FORD!

    Ya.
Old F150 was comparable to the 1st Gen Tundra, but the redesign bumped it up to a "Superduty" style.

The cummins would last 300k+ miles but everything else would fall apart at 75k

and yet Ford makes the most widely sought after public servant-the Crown Vic. Hell the CHP is slated to order up to 1400 new Explorers to replace outgoing Crown Vics.
My pop bought a 1972 Ford Ranch Wagon in '72 (think stripped Country Squire) that was supposed to be for the town fire chief but they let it go. This car served to haul beef quarters over 80 miles from a slaughterhouse to his meat shop for a few years after he got pissed at the prices the delivery truck company was billing him. All he did was equip it with air shocks. Eventually the 351 windsor ran on 7-1/2 cylinders but in '77 hauled us to California from Illinois. Never let us down. Just ran and ran but had that sputter lol Then was handed down to my sis and she drove it till '82, then sold it to her friend. Never saw it again.
Ford is a very good brand and has deep rooted reliability.

I nearly bought a 2001 1500 Ram with 175k mostly highway miles on it before I ended up with my Tacoma. It was in pretty good shape for the miles and a family friend was offering it for $2000 to me. Mechanically, it was a sound as my Tacoma is.

EDIT: Most dodges that I have seen though do not last that long though

I was mainly speaking of Tow rating and bedspace and motor size. The f150 is a horrible truck in my opinion. Yah its got a big cab but its just junk. Dodge makes a great truck and they have the motor and the great looks. Granted the tranny isnt great but Dodge has the Fullsize truck business down better then Ford ever will. Chevy is in the dodge shadow.
