Right now they are still on, those of you that have taken them off, do you get much water thrown up on the fenders, how about rocks on the trail?

Had to take them off the front when I got my wheels. Rears are still on cuz I like the 4x4 on em.

 

Water (and mud), yes. Rocks, no.

bad judgment on this hole on my part, but when i tried to back out, they got all caught up in the mud and stopped me. when i got winched out they acted lie a blade (think blades behind a tractor). they came off when i got home.

 

I constantly throw rocks at my truck, mainly due to my BFGs and no mud flaps in the front. Lots of rock chips for me.

 

I bought some Pro-fit mud flaps for my Taco, they are shorter, wider, and seem to be near unbreakable. Personally, I think the trucks look better without the flaps but I don't want to chip up my paint or throw rocks into some else's windshield. You can see the smaller flaps below, they also make the truck look taller.

 

Don't like the idea of throwing rocks up the side of my rig, so I just cut 4" off each one front and rear. Looks much better now.

 

i actually debated taking them off, because i have a pic of mine on the highway and didn't like it at all...

 

I'd rather have my rear ones on so I have something that says "4x4" on my truck.. but after breaking them off twice wheeling..... I'm done replacing them.

 

MUCH better with them off. I didnt have the truck in the garage 5min and I was already getting the 1/4 wrench and little screw driver out.

 

Nice! I was wondering if anyone found some shorter replacement flaps. Do they make them with "4x4" on them?

 

That's the first Radiant Red Single cab I've ever seen. And it looks... awesome.

 

I left the rear on just because of the 4X4 and took the knife to the front ones only leaving about 3" below the fendor

 

Yup, I too have (customized) mine. I think that I want to cut em, or Hey look at some ford explorers....in the rear they have thease little wanna be mudflaps that don't hang down at all, I kinda think they're cool, they just cup the rear corner of the wheelwell. Maybe?

 

I've had my truck for about a month, and there was something that always bugged me about the mud flaps. I pulled them off last week after seeing this thread, and I think the truck looks a lot better. I have noticed some more splash-up from water and mud, but that just makes it look more like a truck to me.
