yet i have also shot one at 65 yards with a bow and it ran 20 yards max and was dead.

they are just unpredictable, you never know how far or how long they will last after shooting em. and large caliber, how big? even a 223 well placed shot would kill the thing. never needed multiple shots with a rifle.

 Folks who do shit like that need to spend some time inside of some of California's finer Penal Institutions.

But we've gotta be careful here. We just celebrated Memorial Day and the most important thing Vets fight (then and now) to protect is the rule of law - with equal access under the law to everyone. (Yeah, I know the implementation is not perfect but that's the ideal.)

Hippies aren't the only ones to use this, remember. The NRA for example, is near and dear to many TW members hearts and uses the courts quite actively (as well as legislative lobbying) to maintain second amendment rights.

This is why it's so important for us to be active and support the organizations (such as land-multi-use) that are advocating for our rights - and that defend suits such as the one you mention, as well as filing other suits in court to block illegal laws or policies that are administered contrary to the law.

We just celebrated Memorial Day. Veteran's Day is in November

It's one thing to fight for rights and quite another when your stated purpose is to get rid of all of one activity because you don't agree with it.
Imagine if one day it was illegal to do anything but hike in a forest?

Most of the hippies aren't fighting for rights as much as they are trying to rid the planet of stuff they don't like. And they'll use your money to do it.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the issue of access to public lands one least little tiny bit.

I'm just saying how important it is that everyone, whether we agree with 'em or not, has access to the judicial system. So, we have to meet them there, and win.

But, as you point out, it's still effin' annoying. :D

I have an example to make my point. It's from a recent news story.

American's with Disabilities Act provide for equal access to buildings, etc. And there are some strict penalties if you don't meet the access requirements (within the guidelines for your construction period). It's a pretty good act because it ensures most people have access to buildings.

There's a guy who basically goes to every business in a strip mall and first demands a settlement of around $10K when the bathroom doesn't meet ADA requirements. Then files suit against the business. It's his profession-and the profession of many others too. That's how he makes his living-by suing people. That's abuse.

I'm not against people going to court when the situation warrants it. Just against wasting precious resources suing people just because.

Not really sure but I heard that a high school in Concord that just turned charter is taking applications since some of the existing teachers won't be coming back.

    Hey MJ,

Have you tried edjoin.org? My wife has had quite a bit of success looking for elementary positions. I think she found like 20+ in the Vallejo area alone.

What is your degree and credentialing? If you have a clean background, I know that Napa is accepting applications for probation officers. They are mainly looking for social science, psychology, and law enforcement degrees, but all cities right now seem to be taking probation officers. Check it out.
