Elmore / Autauga / Montgomery area. I have a buddy who worked at truck customs in Montgomery and he told me never to go there....same with performance truck.

I'm about an hour north of you. Why don't we just setup a mini meet and i'll help you install it for free..

Unless you bought a 6" drop bracket lift. Any other lift is cake to install. I've done most on my truck alone.

That would be awesome! No drop bracket for me. It's icon extended travel reservoir coilovers, icon 2.0 reservoir shocks, camburg uniball uca's, dakar leaf pack, diff drop, carrier bearing drop and sway bar relocate brackets. I have no idea what I would be doing if I attempted that on my own!

Sounds easy.. You don't have to compress coils and swap shocks.. you bought them per-assembled shocks.. That sounds almost like cheating..

Alright, keep me updated when you're back in town. The first day i get off we'll get it done! I'll PM you my number. I might be able to drag a couple other local guys to help depending on the date.

If you decide you want to get it done before we have time to get to it, talk to Bill (BamaToy1997). He has a shop in Marion. I'm sure he'd be happy to install it all for you for a good price. He's the man when it comes to vehicles of any kind!

Aww shucks... *kicks the dirt* You are such a nice southerner man Dave....lmao

In all seriousness though, yes, I can pretty much work on anything with wheels and an engine. As far as the lift kit, if you are curious on a professional install quote, send me a PM with a link to your kit and I will be able to give you an accurate quote. Most lift kits usually are installed for a reasonable price. However as was mentioned, the more complex the kit, the higher the install. By what you have mentioned, if we are looking at replacing a pre-built coilover, rear shocks, Upper CAs, prefab leaf pack, Diff and carrier drop, and a sway bar relocation bracket, then the cost will be reasonable. I will be able to better quote when I get in to my shop in the morning, and am able to confirm your kit. I am curious though, what is the lift height? If you go too high then you will need to concern yourself with the rear brake line. Let me know if you are interested.

I was actually born and raised in Southern California. :anonymous:

Those coilovers are adjustable. The Dakars give 3" and then a bit less once they settle, so i'm going to assume he's going to go 3" with the coilovers. I would assume he has extended brake lines with that high $$$ lift he has. If not, he will need to get some. He will have a good bit of flex with that setup.

Edit: Next meeting 7:30 PM 8/8/12 @Cahaba Brewing Company downtown B'ham.

Hey guys. I've been kinda slack in posting recently, but I wanted to throw an invite out there for everyone.

I met up with some of the Land Cruiser guys from over on iH8mud for some beers a couple of months ago, and they were in the final process of starting a TLCA club here in AL.

Fast forward to now, and we've officially got a club. TLCA accepted our charter last week, and we're up and running.

The next step for us is to start building membership, and well, going on rides and stuff.

It's a pretty laid back group of guys, lots of us have families with a couple of kids, dogs, etc. The primary purpose of forming the club was just to get a bunch of like minded Toyota guys together to have some family friendly fun and go wheeling and such.

I'd like to extend an invitation to anyone to join up, come to a meeting, come drink beer, whatever.

If you're interested in learning more, check out the forum at:
    http://forum.ih8mud.com/al-dixieland-cruisers/

If anyone wants any more details, feel free to shoot me a PM.

Meetings are the second Wednesday of the month. Check the monthly meeting thread over on mud for details.

Anything with 4Lo. It's basically in there to prevent AWD Celica (or other odd non-off-road 'Yota) owners from saying they have a Toyota 4x4.

Nothing against not driving a 4x4, but that's just the rules for TLCA. Non 4x4 can still join and be a member and everything, they just can't vote on club business.

    :)

Yeah, man lots of people have said that. We'd love to have you join us for beers or wheeling sometime!

Also....anyone know where in Bama I can have a one piece drive shaft made? I don't wanna use a place that I have to send me shaft to and wait for them to send it back. I'd prefer something local!
