When the converter is locked Trans runs cooler.

Water temp has a thermostat. Trans does not and its 23 degrees where your at.

You want to heat it up power brake it. (but not for to long) Torque converter will heat up then.

Looked at truck and fount that the tranny cooler is piped the standard way passing thru radiator then thru small external cooler in front of radiator.
Seeing as how there is little load against tranny at hwy speed and with outside temp what it was I can see that temp on TF1 is likely right on.

Transmissions not under much load aren't hard to cool, too easy some times.

Scangauge site shows a different MTH.

    General Toyota (CANSF)
    Transmission Temperature 07E021D9 032180000000 2810 00070064FE70 TFT Degrees F

Which is right? I just got the sc2 today and all works good. About to do the TFT so making sure. I do see the TFTalready on there but not numbers.

Thanks! I will use whats on the site. Why is it that I see TFT and no info? Is the TFT already programmed in the xgauge? Also, Ive read that people have TF2? Still reading through all the materials and just finished reading up the whole manual.

Oh good... I just have to mess with one.. LOL
But if the TFT is an xgauge why do I show it there already but no data? I thought I had to program that unless factory already put it on there. I do love this lil gadget though!

    Thanks Whippersnapper...

Now reading over the HPR, can you elaborate on how this works as far as adjustments in %? I've gotten everything down now on this manual but page 17 on the manual isn't so clear to me as far as adjusting.

I believe that it is the pan temp from some other threads, or maybe this one, where the 10 or 11 models give both tft1 and tft2 temps.

In no small part because of this thread.

It's great to see Scangauge cares enough to monitor these types of forums to help their users.

It would be nice if there was a place to go to get all the available X-guage codes by vehicle (make and model), year (range) and catagory (function) . I've been to scangauge's site and couldn't find it.

None the less, I bought it for trailer towing and ATF temps which it provides.

    Thanx James and Linear Logic

Same here. I have wanted a scangauge for a long time now and seeing the trans temp readings has sealed the deal. I tow cars on a single car trailer from time to time and want to make sure things are going well.

Anyone know what temp matters? 1 or 2? Or the more important one to watch.

I always have about 700/800 lbs in the bed and sometimes tow a 3000/4000 lbs trailer.

Is there a thread for all the xguage codes for the scangaugeII?

I really wish scanguage would make something with a better display that has color led display and can show more info at one time.
