    I don't know much about lifts, so be gentle....

    I am looking at a number of lift kits and noticed that they do not include UCAs (usually). I also noticed that there are a lot users here that add aftermarket UCAs to there trucks during/after a lift. What is the benefit of installing the aftermarket UCAs?

    getting there....
    the benefit of an aftermarket uca is to get your alignment back to factory alignment specs, because it can get away from it with a lift.

    Most aftermarket UCA's correct caster after a susp. lift. Also, depending on your wheel backspacing and tire width, you may rub the stock UCA. Stock wheels and wider tires rub unless you replace UCA's.

    1. More caster. Keeps the alignment in spec.
    2. Uniball is MUCH stronger than the Ball joint, and can handle more droop
    3. MUCH more plush vs. the stock UCA
    4. Rebuildable
    5. Looks pretty dam cool
    6. more tire clearance

    Thanks for the quick comments. I also found the "Lift FAQ" with more info. Look like I will purchase UCAs with my leveling kit.

    New truck....so nothing yet
    FYI.......I spoke to the fellas at BlitzKrieg Off Road and they are developing a uni-ball UCA for the Tacoma. It will run about $600 for the pair.
