My 98 Tacoma came with 05-current TRD sport alloys on it. I am taking them off and going to run either the 16" split spoke wheels off an 01-02, or the 5 spoke 16" aluminums off an 01-04. Am I going to need different lug nuts for the different wheels? If so, what size lug nuts? I found the mag type lug nuts, 12x1.5 size I believe for around $26 for 24. Not sure if I need acorn or mag type and if that is the right size. Thanks

if i recall correctly, they all use the shank style lug nuts so you should be fine with what you have.

he is right, it should be shank style. But I would recommend getting the rims first before you purchase the lug nuts.

Ok, so evidentally there was two different style of the 16" alum split spoke wheels that came on the 01-04. If the center cap said Toyota it was port installed and if it had the Toyota emblem it had different lug nuts. Anybody know which lug nuts and part numbers I would need? I'm not even sure which lug nuts I would need. My center caps have Toyota written on them.

care to post a picture of the wheels you're referring too. i'm drawing a blank. i know of only one style 16" alloy offered on the '01-04 tacomas.
