Went catfishing last Friday night from the shore at the Cogman (southern Lake Champlain). This day I brought some frogs, Chix liver and shrimp. But to round out the offering I typically fish first for some cut-bait, usually yellow perch. So around 5:30 not expecting cats yet, I was using my light bass pole set up with a worm and bobber. For perch I rarely have my drag set. I was in the process of making a sturdy 4 foot pole support from a branch when without warning, my bass pole launched off the whimpy pole support that was there already, I dove into the water and barely saved my pole. On the other end was this 10lb 5 oz cat. I hadn't even cracked a beer yet.
    I stayed until about 12:30.
Into the evening, also caught 5 more, 7lb 9oz, 8lb, 6lb 8oz, 4lb 6oz and 2lb baby. All in all a good night. The last 5 were all caught on old stinky shrimp.

    Nice speck!

Floating down the Ocoee River on Monday, last time down there I killed the spotted bass on a spook, hopefully history will repeat itself.

Went to a tiny creek with a buddy a couple days ago. He caught a nice ~18" rainbow. I grew some balls and decided to dunk my phone underwater (in the lifeproof case) and snap a couple pictures...

Took my truck out on Assateaugue Island last weekend to get in on the tail end of the Striper run. Despite 20-25 mph sustained NE winds and a ripping current that even 12oz would not hold in I managed to snag this nice 33 inch striper saturday morning. It was delicious !

Nice fish! Without getting too off topic, my wife and I are thinking about going there for a few days in August. How's the fishing that time of year? Any suggestions for what to fish for? We would be flying in so we'd probably try some shore fishing and maybe get a guide for a day.

There are 2 fishing piers that go into the gulf (61st. and 91st) off the seawall. Those will probably be your easiest option to catch a variety of fish. If the water is green, night fishing off the piers should be good. You can always fish off the rock groins also.
