Wondering if some parts in Hilux Vigo and Tacoma are same and if they can use the same after market product. I found a Chinese company that sells 4x4 parts for Hilux for super duper cheap and I was thinking to get some of those parts for my 07 Taco (i.e. Safari snorkel $36 )
They told me it should be same but I am sure they haven’t even seen a Tacoma yet.

I know the Chinese version of Hilux has a 4L V6 like my Tacoma but their engine is VVT-i here is GR-FE!

I am looking to get Air locker, bumper, and snorkel.
Any info or compression of Taco and Hilux on the gear ratio, front bumper mount, and air intake location would be appreciated?

How about you get those cheap quality parts from China, throw them on your truck, and tell us how well the hold up.

Bumper and snorkel probably wouldn't fit due to the different body types.

Link to the company you found?

I am usually after quality parts but I use my brain too. I am not sure what’s the different between a plastic safari snorkel made in china with Safari logo and a plastic safari snorkel made in china and without Safari logo!
For my last trucks I made a snorkel of exhaust pipe, I don't understand what kinds of technology is going thru your plastic snorkel that you can justify $350 for it.
And same with steel bumper? I used to make them for my trucks now I can get them for cheap and don’t go thru the build process…

Air Locker! Yes, I am not sure about yet and going to search more if I get it or not

For plastic parts, sure they are about the same. China will have thinner cheaper plastic but won't make a huge difference.

Anything that matters, I would not run a part from china.

    Good luck!

Defiantly no doubt that ARB is the one, and again I am not sure if I get the locker.

Just a note, with ARB failure at 6929ft and Chinese 6412ft! look pretty close to me ;)
plus you need shit load of HP and monster tires to produce that much torque force

    Thanks,
sorry to tell you that almost anything you got is made in china, check labels ;)
just logos is what makes the prices so different. we have a factory in China and I know all about it, they make the exact same product as they make for us and sell it for fraction of price just with no brand name!

The ARB didnt fail. The stock axle half shaft failed.
For reference, 266 footpounds x 4.171 x 2.618 x 3.727 = 10826 footpounds. That is, in theory, how much torque can be built from the engine, multiplied by transmission, multiplied by transfer case, multiplied by axle ratio.

Of course how you end up in such conditions where the torque is all directed to just one (of four) axle half shafts, is behond my comprehension.

I did saw that axle broke, then theoretically everytime with a locker and 4L as soon as you go on one wheel you will brake axles!

the torque and HP spec is at the wheel

I know its pretty cool to spend lota money on cars and trucks, but any cars and truck I had so far were bought very cheap and I build them myself on budget.
I know for many owners if the see any product with big price tag = Drool

But I haven't post this thread to see who likes to spend more $$$
Just simply if you know about the Hilux spec and similarities with Taco

I build my sled deck of spare plywoods and free junks I found around, total build cost me $52
all buddies spent min $2000 on sled decks... mine dose the exact samething as theirs and still its lighter and takes less space
