Camping at Knoll Lake in May

Hardly, that's my list of remaining things before i'm ready for this trip.

 

OP updated. The Friday morning departure group is meeting at the Fountain Hills McDonalds on Shea at 7:00am instead of 6:00. We will be ready to roll up the highway at 7:30am so come on time, get some food, gas up, ice up and be ready to roll.

 

I see some names on the list that haven't posted since they first said they were going.

Can everyone who's DEFINITELY going please chime in? Also, confirm if you're meeting us on Friday morning or coming up later to meet us.

I built 2 new crawdad traps this past weekend to make sure we have plenty of dads to go around. The 2 on the left are new, the one on the right is one I built 2 years ago and it hauls them in. The new ones actually have 20% more holding capacity so I'm anticipating we'll have 30-50# of crawdads for the Saturday night boil.

 

Looks good. Gonna pick up some spices and such for boiling them tonight or tomorrow.

 

I am still down for going..if anyone is interested in leaving the same spot in Fountain Hills near Micky D's around 6am I am down.

 

Sweet. Not sure who else is going up on Saturday because only the Friday people have confirmed. We will be all set up and save you a spot.

 

Is there anyone else going on Saturday? Seems like we'll be feasting on fish and crawfish with a small group.

 

I just wanna eat crawfish But I got way too much shit going on this weekend to make it out.

 

More for us, I guess. That will give us the opportunity to throw back the smaller ones and only worry about eating the big ones.

Had lobster tail before? This tastes just the same, only 10x smaller. I don't suck the guts out of the heads, I only eat the tail meat (and claw meat on the huge ones). The raccoons can have the scraps.

 

I haven't either, but I'm sure they will taste great.

 

LOVE lobster!! So these must be good!

 

Imagine a small shrimp-sized piece of lobster and you got it. Fresh as can be, too.

My friend at work said that he went to that spot last weekend and the last little drop to the camp area is nice and chewed up. Of course this is coming from a guy with a stock old Cherokee and doesn't really go wheeling. I always liked that it was chewed because it gave something to drive up and over on the way out.
