im pretty new to this forum and im decently familiar with my truck and working on it but i definitly dont know everthing by a long shot.

anyhow, i have an 08 with the trd off road package it has a trd cold air intake and a trd exhaust and i had the 2.5" spacers in it that just went right above the coil over, after running those for a while i started to hear a slight noise in the front end when i turned and hit a bump or when i just turned really hard in either direction, i looked under my hood and seen that my upper ball joints were shot and that my upper control arm was binding the coil when the suspention was fully extended soo... i did alot of research and learned that i pretty much screwed my self using those spacers and to fix it i went ahead and replaced upper control arms and coil overs with products by camburg!!

now with all that being said i still have the noise its just one thud when turning either direction while moving it doesnt make the noise when im not in motion!!!!!

i could really use some help

    thanks

Iv thought about that being the problem but the sound that I hear sounds like something metal hitting the floor board and it's just one solid thud when I hit a bump or a hole while turning, it could be my tired but idk how I would test to rule thaw out besides putting some sock wheels on it which I don't have??

dust your fender well with dirt or sand or lie(cal) and see if it marks.:burnrubber: remember that the spacer had the prob (arm)with it extended not compressed (spring). :rain:

what offset are you running for your wheels. 285 are fat they need offset.

or just look and see if there are signs already since the noise has been happening for a while the should be marks.... Also have you checked and made sure all the bolts are tight

I've searched to see if anyone was experiencing the same problem as me, but couldn't find anything to be quite close enough. I am running 265/70/17s with billie 5100's all around, 1.75" setting in front. I was experiencing a rubbing/grinding noise when turning left or right. Kind of a "Whir-whir-whir". The intervals of the sound seemed to speed up and/or slow down according to my speed. I checked for rubbing all over, and found no evidence of rubbing. I put Spidertrax 1.25" spacers x4, and the noise is still there, not better or worse. Is there a component that is beginning to fail? Or is something rubbing in an area where I just can't see it? I've checked all fender areas, UCAs, mounts, etc. No rubbing seen, and no indication of rubbing on tires. Very frustrating. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

there are several threads about trimming the wheel well panels. you most likely need to do this. look at bullet's build pics a think he shows pictures. your tires are as tall as mine.mine 75/16 yours 70/17 is the same.oh and one more thing
    :worthless:
