Not quite. Armed Response Team for a private agency. Still have all the goodies (taser, glock, kevlar vest, baton, cuffs, etc etc) but I am not sworn. Working on getting there though. Only 24 so hopefully in the next few years. Starting the academy next year is the plan. Right now I work anything from local events that need armed support to weddings to high end private events such as Golden Globes and Executive Protection (bodyguard) things like that. There are times when I respond to calls and need all the emergency lighting and sirens to roll, thats why they are in the truck.

I was thinking the same thing. CBP requires alot of skills beyond that of your average street officer though. Some say its easier to get into, but from what ive heard from LEO's its actually pretty tough. And the working environment and locations are not exactly ideal IMO. But mad respect for CBP though, they can certainly get down. I think I prefer local PD or Sheriff over CPB, but thats just the decision ive made. :)

I've considered joining border patrol before, problem is, Texas doesn't stretch far enough North to touch Canada, and I'd have too much work to do on the Mexican border.

I think if I were CBP I would want to be posted at an international airport rather than a border, but if it had to be a border i think I would actually prefer Canada over Mexico.. no offense (my GF is mexican so its ok hahaha)
