With the 4th of July almost upon us, I was wondering who has a big stockpile of fireworks, who made trips to neighboring states because their home state is really lame, and what your favorite kind is?

I had to take a trip to PA, and got a decent stash .. I cant get enough of the re loadable mortars. something about the launch sound that is awesome!

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
There's a store near Tannersville (IIRC) which is close to the NJ border. Sucks to have stores in your home state and you can't even buy any thing in them.

The PA boarder is crawling with Firework stores. Easton, PA has 4 stores withing 0.25 miles of each other, all fighting for the NY, NJ traffic

So did I get this right? If you live in PA, you cannot buy fireworks in PA. But if you live in another state, you can buy them in PA? If so, what's the intent of that law?

I'm in SC - we are free to blow our hands off here if we so please. Our border friends from NC come down and deposit large sums of money to buy ka-booms.

That said, I now just show up with beer and let others fire off the ka-booms. But I have fond memories of getting a 250 gross of bottle rockets for $2.50 as a kid.

When you buy them in PA you sign a form that says you agree to bring them out of state within 24 hours and you will not explode them in the state of PA.

Bottle Rockets save TACO from massive guanoization

So... for the 2nd year in a row huge flocks of starlings have descended upon my idyll, and commenced to roost right over my taco and whitewash it. There I was earthbound, stomping, and cursing, but the offenders just ignored me and continued to dump. I'm currently living on the edge of the country and there are a few homes within a couple hundred of yards, so a shotgun might raise eyebrows.
So I took a road trip across state lines and purchased some bottle rockets- smaller "Moon Travel"s and more robust "Texas Pop Rockets"s (both with report).
    DSCF8151.jpg

So far, the smaller Moon Travels have been more than sufficient. As soon as the fuse is lit that pffftttt sound spooks the starlings to take wing and the final report sends them packing with their tails between their wings (where else would they be:D).

The Taco is now guano free; and I can now sleep soundly with my lighter and bottle rockets tucked under my pillow.
