I love that people are finding this thread after 80 pages of us bullshitting

 

Who's going to the poker run this Saturday. I might be able to go with gf. She wants to go. I posted in the other thread but just Incase they don't see it, how are the trails? I don't want something to hard or rocks. Just a nice trail and get dirty lol. Do you guys know if I need anything for it. I don't have any tow straps or anything like that. Just the Truck and tow hitch. Is that fine? Thanks guys.

 

I think Johnny, Denis, Rob, and Francis are going. You need to have front and rear recovery points. I think Francis may have posted the requirements in a thread in the northeast section.

 

Thanks. I saw the poker thread but it doesn't say what you need. Does my row hitch count as one for the back lol. I've never done a run like this before so I don't know the rules. I really wanna go.

 

A shackle for the receiver would be a great recovery point. Just the receiver itself, not so much. You can use a Grade 8 bolt through the hitch pin hole in a pinch but it's not ideal.

Do you have the recovery loop in the front?

 

Go to harbor freight and pick up one of these. They are 10 bucks but if you look in most men's magazines they have a 20% off coupon.

 

Damn, I paid more than triple for my shackle through one of the vendors on here

 

You should see the smittybilt ones Rob got at autozone. They are sweet and were like 15 bucks.

Who: Anyone who meets the vehicle requirements. Vehicles should be legally registered and insured and have a min 31" aggressive tread tire and front and rear recovery points.
You can get that from harbour freight and they have tow straps too. The one in Braintree has both I was there a few weeks ago . See you up there!

Yea Autozone was clearing them out. I even called the company headquarters itself to have them search other stores but it seemed like I got the last two they had.

 

That loop isn't really a recovery point. Again, can be used in a pinch but isn't for hard pulls.

 

I figuered that. I know it isnt the best thing but for now I think that will be ok. At least for saturday I should be ok.

On my ride home yesterday, it literally looked like it was snowing. Pollen is pretty awful this year. Luckily I am not too allergic to it.
