no kidding? Don't they have the same 4.7 as the 03? I need to check that out! I hate how my step dads stays where it was when you step on the gas. lol If it weren't for that I would love it 100%
I am not too familiar with that area but we stopped almost right before the closure. We ended up actually stopping on 25 at the mcdonalds. I will have to remember that though and hit you up next time I drive through.

went back to the dealership today and looked at the taco and tundra long and hard. Test drove both again. I was there for a good 2 hours looking at them both. I think my choice is going to be with the tundra as long as I can find a good deal. Ive been seeing a few here and there for 19k so I know they are out there. Just gotta find the right one.

In the long run, I will be a lot happier with the tundra. We want to get a travel trailer or boat and I plan to buy a older yota p/u to use as a trail rig at some point as well so I am factoring the towing in as well as being able to transport kids/ adults comfortably. The luxury of the tundra was also nice. standard dual climate control, the back up camera, rear window slides down, all of the storage areas inside, and the amount of leg room in the back seat was amazing. I also liked how smooth it drove and the turning radius for that big of a truck was incredible. Also having the 6ft bed with the crew cab is nice. I didn't like how limited I was with the taco and getting the DCLB. Definitely a massive truck and I can see that I will be parking in the back of the lots with it. lol 4 wheel vented disc brakes is also another nice feature it had.

As for the taco, the gas savings would be nice and I'd love to have a rear locker. The bed rail system is nice to have as well. I know it is capable of handling everything I want it to do as far as towing goes but looking at specs, the taco actually has about 4" less legroom than my mazda 3. The taco is a hell of a lot easier to get in though. lol! I test drove a tundra that didn't have running boards. It was a pretty big stretch for me to get in and Ashley is only 5'1", I am 5'10". so I would definitely have to get running boards to make it easier to get in.

I also grabbed the neighbors infant seat and put it in both trucks. I had to move the front passenger seat up a good bit (I know I wouldn't have been able to fit up in that seat with baby seat behind it) in the taco to get it to fit. Had to do the same to the tundra but not near as much. I was able to get in the passenger seat up front so that worked.

ok. we would prob have to “setup” early in parking gets hard around 4PM(maybe even earlier in the day) last year i left at 4 and got there around 5:00 or 5:30 and parking was kinda hard.

edit: but i think it would be cool if we could get say 15 or so guys(including the TN members that live around there)

any of you guys ever come down to Norris lake? i know we get alot of people from KY and mostly OH.

i just made my mind up on wanting to get a wave runner. going to sell some stuff here soon or over summer may wait till fall when i could prob get a better deal on a ’12, because dealers will be wanting to make room for the ’13’s

we have an old wet jet i want to say either a ’95 or ’98 it small can’t ride 2 people comfortably.

Haven't been to Norris in a few years we like Cave Run lake in KY and Lake Norman NC. Actually I am heading to Norman 2night as soon as I get off work. Should be fun, we have 4 boats going and are going to be there for 10 days.

I've been good, nothing to new. How have you been? How is the truck?

nice. idk why everyone likes Norris. lol it’s just a lake.

i think most or the accidents on Norris are from people out of state. they all think they have to go by the laws they have where they live not are laws.

than some are just stupid and want to jump out a boat at 30+MPH and they don’t come back up till fall.

I'm sure alcohol has something to do with most accidents. I was in a boating accident about 7 years ago, drunk drive T-boned us. Luckily we were the bigger boat.

yeah it did. also he did not have a live fest on. they said he said something earlier in the day about what it would be like to jump out of a moving boat. they all(well they say they did) told him it was a bad idea. happened like 3 years ago this past weekend he did not come up till fall. they even sent divers down, looking for his body with no luck.

glad you are ok. that had to suck!

Congrats to you two!! I'm going on 13yrs strong! Lol

Been busy with racing my motorcycle teaching my son and wife how to ride dirt bikes and house projects (just finished my basement myself). Other than that.. The Taco is treating me well!
