Lets see your most Unique Mod

Thats very nice! I could use something like that instead of resting mine in between the seat and center console.

 

I wanted something that was not only secure but out of sight in case someone with prying eyes was looking into my windows. Nobody looking for stuff to steal ever looks upward. Even if they did they wouldn't get much more than a mag at most since the whole thing is locked in like Fort Knox.

I'll assume you don't have "Tech" screws sticking out of your roof

Nope. Only grade 8 bolts are used for anchoring.

 

damn, we cant even have ammunition next to the gun when traveling -.-

 

Yet another reason I don't live in HI.

 

Forgive my ignorance, are there existing/factory tapped holes above the headliner for the bolts or did you have to drill some support.
Just trying to understand the anchoring.
It's obviously secure and the location is ideal.
I've never been above the headliner so I don't know what's there.
Now that I think about it, there was a thread that had pics of the liner removed, I'll have to find it

If you look at those little SRS plastic tabs there is threaded holes under that. When I have time to pull the entire headliner down I plan to anchor some larger brackets to more places under it and then attach the brackets to that. The current setup is awfully sturdy though but I like to over-engineer things.

 

Dude. This has got to be my favorite mod on here thus far...

I think my most unique mod is the second Gen bed rails and cleat system I'm installing this week just got the bed rails and cleats from a Guy that totaled his 05 taco going to install them this week

 

Thanks man! I dig it too. It's been a long time waiting for all the parts to build the rifle and the rack with a few hiccups along the way so I'm glad it's finally done. Well, sorta done. I still need to run wires for the hidden electric release switch.

why system did you use to mount it how is it mounted?

 

Some of the parts are Santa Cruz and the rest are of my fabrication, parts I had laying around and pixie dust and unicorn farts.
