if it stays on the books, then ya your right that makes sense. But Boston is well known to cheating the cap and other rules. Look at them just keeping Savard from retiring when everyone and their dog knows hes done. But the way it is right now Im sure his salary is paid by insurances or something because hes still on LTIR

 

Man they would get a BOAT load for Schneider. Age/RFA status/play man hes gotta be one of the most valuable goalies out there today. Whatever team trades for him picks his contract, and hes still good for another solid 10 years

 

Luongo is an Ok goalie...He needs to go, but Toronto is probaly the worst possible location. If they dont make the playoffs (which they wont) they will be all over him. He needs to go somewhere where Hockey is on page D9 and no one in town will think he's anything special. I honestly think he could thrive in Dallas, any FLA team, Wash, SO Cal. The pressure to perform up north is just too heavy.

 

How can you say "which they wont"? Do you understand that last year they were in the playoff hunt until the last 10-15 games and all year without a #1 center and using a 3rd string AHL goalie? If Luongo was on the leafs current roster they would be a playoff team no doubt in anyones mind. They have no problem scoring goals and IMO Luongo is much better then canucks fans think. Its just the contract and situation that hurts the value coming back. Imagine telling the owner of the leafs (no matter how rich they were) that a player asked for a trade and there were only a few options but you decided to take on the last 53.3 million dollars of his contract. You better have a good explanation

NEW YORK (AP) Rangers forward Marian Gaborik will undergo surgery on his right shoulder that is expected to sideline the high-scoring winger for about five months.
Gaborik said Friday he was injured during Game 3 of New York's first-round playoff victory over the Ottawa Senators when he was hit into the boards shoulder-first.
Gaborik, who scored 41 goals during the regular season, didn't miss any games because of the injury but he was limited to just five goals and six assists during New York's 20-game postseason run that ended in the Eastern Conference finals.
''I tried not to think about it,'' Gaborik said Friday during a conference call. ''I don't want to make excuses, but it was there.''
Gaborik will have the operation on Wednesday in New York, according to a statement issued by the Rangers. This was the first time the right winger played an entire season without missing a game.
Earlier this week, Rangers general manager Glen Sather said 14 players were scheduled for appointments with doctors. Gaborik will be hard-pressed to be ready in time for the start of next season, which is slated for October.
The five-month projection would put his return around November.
''I'm going to try everything to be back before,'' Gaborik said.
Gaborik also had a team-high 76 points in the regular season. He was benched during Game 2 of the East finals against New Jersey, and Gaborik said his injury wasn't a factor in his playing time being cut.
Gaborik, who had only one goal against the Devils, felt weakness in his shoulder, which took away power from his shot.
''I am obviously frustrated,'' he said. ''I knew I wasn't OK. I was hoping for better from the doctors. I just have to focus on getting back healthy and ready to go.
''I know I could play better. I don't think it was affecting me that much. It was just weak. My shot wasn't there.''
With the top-seeded Rangers just one round away from reaching the Stanley Cup finals, Gaborik didn't consider sitting out to rest his shoulder or go for surgery then. He is still looking for his first NHL championship.
''I tried to put it aside and focus on playing,'' Gaborik said. ''You don't get too many situations where you can play for the Cup. A lot of guys were banged up. We tried not to think about it just go out and do our best.''

Isn't that what Kesler did last year? Didn't he injure his shoulder during the playoffs and keep it to himself or something? I could be totally wrong, ima google that right now lol

Edit, I'm confused. I did a search and I'm guessing he played against LA with a shoulder injury and he had a groin injury last playoffs? OZ you would know
