So doesn't that make it the same as Gaborik's situation that you mocked for being fake?

So you're saying with Luongo who chokes every yr in the playoffs pretty bad, the Leafs will that much better? The last 10-15 games every team is in the playoffs, in fact more than 1/2 the teams make it so you have to be pretty bad not to make the playoffs. With the current Leafs roster even with a better goalie I dont see them going anywhere. I always hear Leafs fans saying they want Staal for a handful of guys no body outside Toronto has ever heard of. It always seems like if you play in Toronto you are somehow so much better that reality (Kaberle). I would love to see a strong team up there, but for ownership there really isn't much incentive. I read somehwere that even without the playoffs money the Leafs bring in more revenue than a lot of other teams combined.

ok true, I see your point. Leafs wont get Staal unless they give a boat load and real fans know that. But the Kaberle thing, he DID get a huge return remember. Colborne (2008 1st rounder), a 2011 1st round pick, and a 2012 2nd round pick (traded for Liles)
So the got Colborne, 1st, liles FOR Kaberle. I thought thats about the going rate.
Also, this isnt like other years where leafs rosters were old and homered to shit. The have a VERY solid roster with just too many key question marks
    -
    Lupul-????-Kessel
Kulemin-Grabovski-Macarthur (one of the best 2nd lines in the league)
    Connolly-Bozak-Kadri/Frattin
    Brown-Steckel-Armstrong
    Orr/Rosehill
    -
    Phaneuf-Gardiner
    Schenn-Liles
    Franson-Gunnarsson
    -
    ????
    Reimer

You have to admit thats a lot better then the delusional leaf fan years

It is a promising roster, and Im not too familar with all your players. You guys do need a #1 center and a decent goalie. I thought the monster had promise. I also expected more out of Burke by now, he's a pretty bold GM.

I would enjoy going to the Pens games and seeing all the Leafs fans that make the trip. They all had the same look on their face like "I really spent this much on tickets, took vaca days, and airfare/gas, hotel for this? FML! hahaha.

true but he fell off the face of the earth when he was traded. He was a great player his whole career in toronto.

Really? He was a good player on a junk team. Great is reserved for Crosby, Malkin, Teemu, Lidsrtom caliber players.

you have to take into consideration that all players become 5x better when they put on a leafs jersey, for toronto fans and media anyway.

Malkin got his ass handed to him by a 19yo rookie defenseman in the playoffs and got 8 total playoff points....woooohooo
His reg season was great, but who cares if you can't get it done in the end?

Crosby...thats just a joke I hope? His reg season...well we all know about that disaster. He also got shut down in the playoffs for 8 total points.

as you guys already know. Guys play hurt throught the playoffs every year. Gaborik's situation is no unusual. Kesler has been hurt the past two years in the playoffs. Guys play because they dont wanna bail on their team, not to mention they usually get labelled as pussies if they sit out.

Interesting Gaborik is about to get the same surgery that Kesler just had. Torn Labrum.

I would argue that Kesler's injury was more detrimental to the Canuck's run than Gaborik's was to the Ranger's beacause Kesler's game initiates way more physical contact. Something pretty tough to do when you have shoulder pain
