No, as in they covered the frame in black spary paint, covering the rust. The seller has a legal obligation, at least here in Texas, to disclose anything that is wrong with what they are selling.

Just because people get screwed overe all the time doesn't make it right. I think OP deserves a portion of the money back for one tire, and if the seller can't pay right away, make a payment plan. He has other bills to pay so he should know how to work something out. He shouldn't be given a get out of jail free card just because he's 17. I'm 17 and would find a way to get the OP a portion of the money back if I screwed him over, whether it was on accident or not.

I would have done my homework and checked under the truck like I did with my brand new one prior to me signing the papers. Heck, I even had them do all the campaigns on it before delivery! So I would not have bought it in the first place.

That nail head looks just like one of the rocks.
I'm sure the seller had no idea it was there.
I would have missed it had I not looked at the inside of the tires.

    ^^^^ a thousand times

Thank you, I coudn't say it better

i never said that he knew. But why should I get stuck with the tires ?
Again, if I keep the tires, I loose big time, because Like Jasmine said and I couldn't, 3 defeat the purpose of buying the tires. If he keeps the tires all he looses is that he is not going to be able to sell his almost new tires to another guy, because i discovered that one has a nail.

I think it's time for a chat with mommy or daddy.

If you get an attitude from them, then you know where the seller got his values from and it's time to write it off as an expensive lesson.

Same situation for me but i was the seller that had a nail in the tire. I took my stockers off with roughly 9000 miles on them. Had the sensors removed and tires re-mounted and balanced at my local Goodyear. I got the wheels/tires back and stacked them in my garage. Two days later i had a guy come by to purchase the tires and he found a nail in one of them. I was livid (at Goodyear) - i was embarrased that there was a nail in there and knocked another 50 bucks off. I had no idea of the nail - but fucked up things happen i guess.

Hope you and the seller can work something out.

See, what some people don't understand is that the whole thing started because I had a nail on each of my back tires. I could have plugged mine and done deal, but I'm not putting my son's life or the other driver's at risk for a plug,. That's why I decided to buy all 4 tires in good shape. When I asked the guy about 1-2 or all four was to know my options regarding the money.

I've been using plugs since I started driving and my dad before and never had a problem a lot of people are afraid of plugs and to each there own must just be a redneck thing :D , I've bought and sold on craigslist and here more times than I can think of and never had any problems but I'm always honest in my ads and very Good about knowing what I'm getting before paying I say if he's willing to give you anything take it and be happy

They can physically be plugged by someone willing to do it.

Finding a shop willing to do it is the problem.
And whether or not the plug will hold is another.

I tried to plug a motorcycle tire once, didn't work, the hole was too big.
Fuck me. $220 tire in the trash with less than 500 miles on it.
