Best Cold Air Intake?

Hello everyone!

I'm looking for some opinions here.

I just installed a Flowmaster Cat back, dual out exhaust. Got the "American Thunder" model. It sounds great and I got a lil' extra kick from the already punchy 4.0L in there. Looking to install the air intake next. K & N is very popular and I know Ingen is out there as well as Air Raid makes a cheaper intake. Any suggestions on a good kit for the new V-6?

The dealer price on that was keeping me away from the TRD product, more expensive than my flowmaster exhaust. I'll reconsider now, is there a product that would increase air flow better than this thing?

x2.... i also enjoy it on the dirt too in fact it stays cleaner in the dirt compared to other intakes that are right above the right fenderwall.... shit gets kicked up right there so the filter gets dirtier there rather than the front like urd styles... the only time u dont want the urd is if ur doing river crossings. ive driven in rain/snow/shallow water crossins and mud puddles and worked like a champ.. but again im never gonna cross a huge river since its not my type of off roading

 

I should be fine on rivers. Monsoons force some river like driving. I'm on trails most of the time though so it shouldn't be an issue. Good to know about the location of the URD being an advantage, I'll check em out. THX

 

and also as long as you dont haul ass like a dumb ass into the river where u can hydrolock plays a big role too

Just installed the TRD CAI last night, highly recommend it. High quality construction, excellent installation instructions, and sounds awesome! Also gives a noticeable kick in the back on hard acceleration. I bought mine from shopTRD.com along with a TRD exhaust system, their internet manager Jeff matched the group buy price.

I noticed the URD site in front of the radiator. obviously this gets better airflow.
Anyone know if the filter is visible behind the grille? Its right up in there. Also any known issues messing with the radiator there?

 

Get the TRD CAI, its definitely worth the money...better design. The K&N CAI open design is ok but it draws in heat from the engine...I had the K&N CAI on my H3.

 

I like the placment of the URD, it seems more effective.
I'm assuming this would be more effective than a sealed intake system.
I see an AFE stage 2. Any comments on the sealed intake?
