    Not to :deadhorse: but I didnt mean that the lower could be rotated out I meant that if both pins were removed it looked as though it could be slid straight out. But it seems you are confident that is wouldnt be possible, and since I cant see well enough to confirm my suspicions based on one picture, I will just take it as not possible. Wasnt trying to stir up a hornets nest, I just thought I should point it out in case it had been overlooked...

    Nope, not overlooked. The stock bracket locks the whole thing into place. It won't pull downward even with the pins removed. The wiggle room just isn't there. In fact, when the locking clamp is deactivated it's still a bit of a chore to remove it when the locking mechanism is no longer in play. There is a small flaw that could be exploited that hasn't yet been mentioned but I don't think this is the thread for full blown discussion about such things. It's also not finalized but a quick and dirty install which I was already planning a few tweaks and upgrades to. I just posted it because I thought some might like the idea and didn't realize it was going to turn into a serious issue of scrutiny and contention for some. It's just picture. That's all.

    Why is it I've seen no less than a dozen center console vault pictures posted on this forum and not one person feels the need to point out the design flaws in such a contraption but I post this and it turns into this whole thing about defeating such a security device?

    ...please don't anyone answer that rhetorical question.

    I think its a solid idea, and I am interested in seeing your final fully finished mount. And I doubt someone would notice it to break in and steal the thing even if it were possible. But speculation lead to way more than it needed to. I just mentioned it as a possibility cause I would hate to have not mentioned it and read about it being stolen later.
