Why not install that d-ring where the bed bolt is?? Its probably much more sturdier there than where you put it. Plus you wouldn't have to drill a new hole ;)

And still have room for the Ammo Box Mod :D

I wish the 2.7 were so simple.

Yes, it's better than my '94 with the 22RE which had the filter sticking horizontally out the side, leaving oil to run down the block and across the pan.... but seriously, it's like these things were designed with the expectation that the owner is changing his oil over a maintenance pit with a4 square foot catch basin.
The 2.7, even if I park on a slope with the passenger side low, breaking the filter's seal results in the oil dripping down the engine side of the filter mount and it lands right on the trans cooler lines, then onto the frame.

I get the filter loose enough to move, then slip a large Zip-Lock bag over it and spin it off. Helps, but some spill is unavoidable.
    Seriously considering a relocation kit.

Yeah, taking the oil filter off is a breeze, but they werent that bright when they designed it. I have to try to fit a plastic cup or something under the drain to catch it and it always drips some oil anyway. And where does it drain? Right over the belts! I am tempted to get some small tubing to fit over the nub on the drain and zip tie it in place, routing it down below everything.......

A 20oz soda bottle works perfectly. It sits on hose underneath with the drain in the bottle opening.

^^^That's exactly what I do.:D Except for the one time I forgot it all together, then I had to pull the plug and wipe up the spilt oil.

I think the extended hose seems to be a great idea!

Just got done painting my wheels. I sanded them completely with 320 grit until all the shine was dull and they were dull in finish. I then taped off the tires and primed with Duplicolor sandalbe primer. I then hit them with 3 coats of Duplicolor graphite wheel paint and let them dry over night. I topped them off with FJ Cruiser center caps. I love the way they came out and really like the way my truck is sitting now, I think I'm pretty much done with mods for now, except maybe the diff breather relocation:cool:

Love the look. I've thought about doing the same, but I'm not sure how they would look with MGM.

I used the plate that came with it from the factory, its rated for over 500lbs at the location I put it at (according to toyota). And for the critics about the bed bolts, I didnt feel like pulling them out or buying/borrowing the torx bit (its huge) for those bolts, then having to shave the washer to fit the bolt. Im only using it to transport my dirt bikes which dont weigh more than 500lbs together. Just dont trust the plasic tie downs on the rail.
