first and foremost i wanna apologize to all the forum members that got involved in this little rant, Im sorry that OP cant keep the deal between us and had to involve you guys and sorry that all you guys had to get worked up on this. I would like to tell you guys that im the "seller" i thought itd be much better that i man up and let you guys know myself rather than OP starting a "Rag on me Thread" again. im over this i have had enough drama queens in highschool to deal with. yes im 17 yes i have bills to pay for and to top that off my grandma just had a stroke and is in a comatose thats another 1500 in airfare that i need before the end of this month(philippines) to pay for so i can see if shes okay who knows what will happen. i even canceled my retrofit order to save some money(something i always wanted) and yes i have a minimun wage job $8/hr i work 7-8 hours a day on thursdays-sundays just to pay my bills like i said im 17. ive been in some emotional and stressful shit already and i dont need this guy's crap to add to it. and for assurance i did not buy 18 inch wheels idk where that crap came from.i came across a good deal on used 285s for 150 for all 4 and thought i should hop on those and sell my old tires for extra money. ive also been doing a BHLM thread for awhile now just to make some extra cash to help pay for my bills. and have nothing but good feedback from people i did them for(i even got a free pair of billsteins from a really great forum member), yes i had a couple mess ups (not enough sealant) but i didnt ignore them and screw them over i made sure i got to the as soon as possible to re seal their lights for them. but that stuff is over with i dont have much time for it anymore. im sorry to all you forum members if you guys think you cant trust me anymore then so be it, i have been a member of this site for awhile and envy most of the trucks on here, its pretty much the only site i visit sort of my "facebook" (not that im saying this is a facebook its much better) and if the mods want to ban me then thats their decision. i guess i have a good run on this site its not like i cant visit and look through again. Ive tried to reason with OP and even told him ill re-imberse him for the one faulty tire but he wants to be hard this guy is seriously probably on his 50s acting like he is in my age group. i already promised him that i would pay him back the whole 350 but it wouldnt be for a long while because like i said i have so much in my hands plus leaving by the end of this month mean i have to take some work off. who knows maybe ill have to trade my truck in for a civic just to get everything on track all this drama for a freaking TIRE!! thought everyone on here is mature enough and thought this was a truck forum... and to let you guys know i had no absolute idea that there was a nail there.. wouldnt the tire shop that switch out my tires ask me if i want to thrash my tires because one of the is messed up???

Yeah I here ya, shit happens when you least expext it. As for the tires not being checked by the shop that dis-mounted them......well it happens, I did this for work for a while and never checked them unless there was obvious damange. A lot of tire shops are guilty of this. Also all buyers should run thier hand on the inside of the tire to check for any irregularities, whether they look new or not

to be honest... i think craigslist even has a disclaimer on the site, you buy anything from it and its a chance you take... there is no liability further than a gentlemens handshake. mistake or not, the kid doesnt owe you shit, thats the truth - not being a dick. we've all had it happen... i just had it happen to me two weeks ago, bought a set of tires for 150, couldnt find a shop that would mount them, so i paid to throw them out. lesson learned. time to move on, at least you didnt get COMPLETELY fucked.

I'm sorry about you family situation. But my question is : what would happen if I didn't purchase your tires? We are talking about money that you didn't have. This money didn't come OUT of you pocket. Now you are all mad about this, and i'm the one that got stuck with the tires. And it's not like i called u after a week, i called you 8 hs after i got the tires. Now that you passed the problem to somebody else and you got your money you are Mad? Don't make me feel guilty because you don't have money, i work 13 hrs days and i don't do charity.
The only thing that i'm guilty is of trusting you and not checking the tires. I would never ever pass my problems to somebody else and that's what you are doing with me. We are talking about morals, principles and trust..

Ps: And I posted here because I met you thru the forum. For me this place is important and i'm very proud to be a member.

Got two of those kits in my truck. OP I'd plug that tire and go on and forget about all this. I've plugged a tire in the same spot before. Got another 50,000 miles out of it. Yes I said another 50,000 miles, they were Michelins and I wasn't going to dump a half used tire cause it got a nail in it. Never had the first problem out of a plugged tire in the 23 years I've been driving. I've even had a tire with three plugs in it  I used it to 100,000 miles too. I have a 4 y/o son too and believe it or not, we're both still alive after riding on plugged tires. If you were that worried about a nail in the tire you should have gone over them with a fine tooth comb. If there were rock, pebbles, whatever in the tire, pull them all out and inspect. That's what I would have done, just plug it and move on. YMMV

stop giving him a hard time, what dont you get about him not owing you shit? you made a bad purchase, it seems like a mistake on both party's, one overlooked the nail and the other didnt check his 350 dollar purchase. stop throwing out morals and principles because people make mistakes dude, as YOU clearly made one just as much as he did. leave him alone - there is nothing you can do short of taking him to small claims court which is not fucking worth it, and you wouldnt win anyways.

Don't think he knew about the bad tire, an honest mistake that could happen to anyone. You bought a used item and didn't check it thoroughly before payment, I think it's on you.

The kid said he would do what he can to make it right, why can't you accept that?

^^^this. OP, you need to stop buying used since you cannot seem to buy used without bad results. If you need me to post another pic of that tire plug kit feel free to let me know.
