Nice, I went through two oil gaskets in a month when my truck had about 10k on it. When they were putting the second one on they found a deformation in the oil pan that was actually causing the leak.

I had never heard of that happening before but the gaskets on Toyotas like to go out around 50k

That is odd. I have a different experience.

My first Toyota was a 1967 Corona. It was an ugly bastard but I never managed to kill it. When it exceeded 350 K Miles I gave it away. And through the years 4x4 Pickup, 1982 Old style Landcrusher, Space Van, Camry Wagon, Sienna Van, Matrix XR, and now the 2012 Tacoma. I have never had one leak or burn any oil or fluids of any kind. The only problem I have had was an AC Thermister in the Camry ( warranty replaced ) and the transmission in the 98 Sienna went out due to Mfg Defect when it was two years old. It was replaced under warranty also, it took them a month to get a replacement, but I was given a new Sienna Van to drive for the duration of the repairs.
I personally would rather push a Toyota than drive a ( Ford, Chevy, Chrysler or any other brand ).

    Ditto.

I've never had a Toyota lose any fluid that I didn't remove, though the wife's '04 Rav4 is starting to creep up on oil consumption. 125k and she drives the piss out of it, it's burning about 1/2qt every 5000.

If you don't remember, the Toyota "Corona" was the original "luxury" model (such as it was, nothing from Japan was particularly luxurious).
The Corona was replaced by the Celica Camry/Carina in the US in the early 80s.
